Anakin Skywalker's point of view

I took another drag on my cigarette as I watched from a distance, leaning against my car, as Alex and Eric exchanged a few words across the street. I tapped the cigarette with my finger and took one last drag before throwing it on the ground, crushing it with my foot.

I lifted my face, continuing to observe the scene, Alex could barely look Eric, or even me, in the eye, he kept his gaze down throughout the conversation, there was a purplish tinge to his face, I could see his nervous glances out of the corner of my eye, which amused me, it was funny that his fear of me was reflected in his desperate actions, yet I kept a serious expression.

I looked around, I'm not worried about being seen, not least because the mafia has all the control it needs to cover up our business, but I don't like drawing attention to myself, I like being discreet, the mafia already brings a lot of visibility, it means that a target is drawn on my back twenty-four hours a day, so being discreet is a form of security.

There was a car not far away, with some security guards who were always with me. Always alert, armed and ready for anything.

I reached into my pocket for my cell phone, checked the time and then put it back. I needed to go to Empire later today, I intended to do it in the afternoon, there were dozens of documents that needed to be signed and an important meeting with a potential business partner.

I watched the scene again, noticing that the two of them were getting ready to leave, it was time to take action. With a rigid expression on my face, I approached the two of them, Eric was counting his money, which had been delivered in an envelope, and as I approached, I could see Alex's nervousness increasing. I needed to make sure that the brat had understood what I was saying.

"We need to clarify a few things, don't you think?" I smiled, but the smile didn't reach my eyes.

"I-I've paid what I owed, you can tell..." I interrupted him.

"Not owed, money you stole." I stopped him face to face.

When I realized he was too scared to answer, I let out a debauched laugh through my nose and denied it with my head.

"I don't want any trace of you in any of my casinos, nightclubs, anything, do you understand? You're lucky that out of respect for your family, I won't shoot you out of this town." I spoke calmly while maintaining a threatening tone.

He knew that if he messed with me again, he'd end up attracting trouble within the mafia, which wasn't an interesting thing to do against the Sith, I had enough evidence to get the council's approval and kill him, but out of respect and also to avoid unnecessary headaches, I wouldn't do it. Being heir to the mafia meant that I had been trained and educated all my life to take on the role, learning to avoid certain situations was essential, after all I would be taking on the role of leader of the council, I needed to know when to act, I couldn't let my anger and personal problems with Alex's older brother — Tyler Derris — affect the mafia.
