Bárbara Santoro's point of view

My thoughts were still on what had happened in the bathroom. Anakin's gaze remained stuck in my mind; I could visualize him as if he were right there in front of me every time I closed my eyes.

I still felt butterflies in my stomach, remembering when I thought we were going to kiss. For a few seconds, I wanted to feel his lips on mine, which was crazy. Anakin was synonymous with trouble, said the voice of reason in my head all day long. The worst thing was that, as well as being beautiful, he was fucking interesting. I didn't know much about Anakin, not even his surname, but now at least I had a clue. Anakin had said he owned the hotel... I could look in internet.

No. Stop thinking about him. He's just a guy you met and ended up seeing a few times, even if he is handsome.

Maybe the fact that I don't flirt very often is making my head not think straight. I've never been one to flirt, I've always been shy, reserved, I hadn't been with many guys, so this kind of thing wasn't common for me. Anakin, in a way, made me feel wanted. I liked the way he wasn't ashamed to say that he thought I was beautiful, without beating around the bush, just throwing it to the wind. I think the fact that I closed myself off to relationships, deciding to focus on other things, meant that I indirectly erased myself. I myself made sure — in an indirect way — that this happened, which made my experiences — or lack of them — very limited. I didn't give a damn, and the guys didn't make a point of insisting most of the time. Some even tried for a while, but nothing that lasted. The whole thing with Anakin would probably pass soon too.

I knew it was taking up a lot of my mind because of my lack of contact with the male sex.

"But you don't feel that way with Ben."

A voice shouted in my mind.

What puzzled me most was: were we going to kiss, or was I delirious? What made him stop?

I think it was just delirium.

I sighed, staring at my reflection in the mirror as I applied a little blush. Zoe was next to me, humming Taylor Swift's "Fortnight", which was playing loudly on the TV in the bedroom.

"You seem far away." commented Zoe.

"I'm just thinking..." I mumbled, trying not to let the whirlwind of thoughts in my mind show.

Zoe gave me a curious look, but didn't press the issue.

We finished getting ready and Larissa appeared, calling us to go with her and the other girls to the party venue.

The Skywalker hotel was stunning, with its imposing façade and elegant marble columns. Bright lights illuminated the entrance, where well-dressed guests arrived in luxury cars. But inside, it was even more impressive, from the rooms to the corridors, with every last detail.
