Colyn's POV

So I've lucked out on an amazing roommate who knows boundaries as well as respect. However, when it came down to my neighbors, my luck ran out, leaving me with annoyingly ignorant individuals.

The whole night, starting from around 1 in the morning and going on until about 4 or 5 in the ass crack of dawn, there was this consistently loud pounding of rap or pop or.... whatever the hell kind of music it was, but it kept Ash and I up the entire night.

I found Ash to appear just as upset by the blaring music, groaning his disapproval all night, desperately trying to cover his ears with his blanket and pillows. I actually felt bad for him, seeing as how his bed is the one right up against the wall where the music seemed to be coming from.

By the time the damn lalapalooza ended over in the neighboring dorm, I hadn't gotten even a fraction of sleep, especially since I had to wake up soon after to leave for the registration office.

After looking in the bathroom mirror, that's is no bigger than the windshield on a Honda Civic, and seeing the tired eyes with bags already forming underneath them looking back at me, I groan with barely held in annoyance.

I try my best to be as reasonable as possible about the whole ordeal. Afterall, it is only the first day of being in the college dorms and I'm sure our neighbors just wanted to throw a little party, so I shouldn't make a big deal out of it. By tonight, the dormitory will be music free and all will be swell in the world. Let's just hope whoever had the little hurrah last night got it out of their system last night.

With that optimistic thought settled firmly in my mind, I walk out of the bathroom before heading to the main building with Ash to find our designated sections so we can pick up our schedules.

Having different majors, we very quickly split ways. I walk towards the science department while Ash heads over to the education area. I make my way to the registration queue for biology and chemistry, waiting patiently in the slowly increasing line.

Everything is going smoothly until suddenly there's loud chatter coming from the area opposite to where I'm standing. I look behind me to locate the source of the noise only to find that the sports section is stationed right across from the science department.

Absolutely perfect.

There is a parade of people all gathered around, yelling and talking amongst each other as if they're in their own little world where no one else exists. Realistically, the rest of us are all stuck with the displeasure of listening to the lot of them scream over one another, trying to be a part of any conversation they can.

Cheerleaders, football players, and even golf players all chatting up a storm, and while I usually don't mind a casual conversation here and there, these imbeciles were hooraying and whooping obnoxiously for literally no damn reason.

I narrow my eyes to find the group of guys who seem to be responsible for this display of ignorance, noticing a few of them engaging in fist bumps and roughly body slamming each other.

I've never really been a big fan of sports, explaining my slender and bony physique, so the idea that people actually go to college just to play in a sport baffles me. Don't get me wrong, the medically scientific part of my brain says being active or partaking in some physical activity is amazing and beneficial to the body. However, the snappish and easily annoyed part of me can't stand those who become overly obsessed and take these things to completely unrealistic levels.
