With the help of the creature and instructions from his Mother, he was able to walk just enough to get out of his small room and into another room. Of course he says room, but it was more like another part of the cave. The place he transformed into was considered the heart of the cave and his "room", but Mother was insistent on him moving away from that place.

This new room was just as big as his other room, if not a little larger with a single passage in front of him. The passage he had come from disappeared after he entered the room. To his surprise there were some pretty things in this room. Like shiny rocks that the one human was taking and pointy objects like the first human liked to use when hurting the creatures. It was very fascinating.

But the objects that stood out the most were these shiny large crystals. At first glance they almost looked like his original form. A smooth and shiny black surface, but upon closer inspection he could see a faint green shining within. The green pulsated like a heart beating.

Tilting his head he reached out for the object, but before he could touch it the creature from before dropped something at his feet and nudged it towards him. Frowning, he glanced over at the object. Upon seeing it his curiosity was successfully diverted from one object to the other.

"Mother, what is this?" He picked it up and held it in the air. It was as big as his hand and soft to the touch, but it resembled the dirt on the ground.

[That is food.]

"Food?" He gazed at it curiously. It was indeed soft to touch, but it didn't look good. Pouting, he gave it back to the creature. The creature blinked its six eyes at the food offered to it. "Here it's yours. I don't want it." He pushed it towards the creature's mouth. The creature, feeling the pressure from above, took a couple steps back and laid on the ground.

He gasped and looked at the piece of food in his hand before dropping it to the ground and whipping his hands.

[...Child, what are you doing?]

He gazed upwards. "Mother, are you trying to feed me poison?"

[Poison?]

He nodded his head with a firm look, "Yes, it has to be poison. Why else wouldn't the creature eat it." In a short time span he had deduced that the creatures would eat anything, even humans who don't taste good, then the food he was being given had to have been poisoned. But then why did his mother want to feed him poison? He was very confused.

His Mother let out a sigh, [Child, this is food designed to be eaten by humans not creatures.]

He frowned and looked at the piece of food on the ground covered in dirt, "But...why does it look bad?"

His Mother chuckled, [It's not bad, it's-] His Mother abruptly stopped.

"Mother?" He asked, but there was no response, "Mother, what's wrong? Did something happen?"

The creature beside him that was originally laying down abruptly stood up and made its way to his side. Its hair that was once smoothed down now stood up right like a million tiny needles. Its mouth opened slightly and a few sharp teeth could be seen as it let out a small growl.

Worried, he hid behind the creature and waited for his Mother's instructions. Although the creature's fur was hard to the touch, he found that the pieces he was gripping onto were not pointed like the rest of the fur on its body, but instead it was lowered allowing him to hold on easily and not get hurt. Laying his head against the creature he couldn't help but think that he should name the creature.

His eyes light up. 'That's right! Humans like to name things! I should name this creature!' He thought about humans one and two. Although their time in the cave didn't last long, he did overhear them calling out names. At first he thought it was them calling out other humans, but to his disappointment there weren't any humans, only the weapons in their hands. He remembered being slightly disappointed, but also happy because he discovered that humans like to give names to objects and things.
