All quiet on Remnant

Chapter 21 - Let's Spend The Night Together

It had been 5 days since their arrival at Mistral. Until now, no one in the team had the energy to go out into the city. After all they went through, they felt like they were entitled to a break. They had spent the last few days resting in a house Ozpin owned. This was the house Ozpin would stay at whenever he had business In Mistral. The strange thing about this house was its size. Ozpin would usually come alone, or at the very least with one other person. Yet this house was big enough for all of them to fit, and it still had extra space for more.

Like always, Paul woke up earlier than the others. He was always  morning person even before going to war. He always thought that one should take full advantage of the day. Now that he was in Remnant, that meant waking up at 4AM, getting ready, eat, and then spend the next 4 hours mindlessly watching videos on his scroll, until someone woke up.

After getting ready, he headed downstairs. On his way to the kitchen, he was surprised to find
Qrow fully awake and preparing some food.

"Shouldn't you be sleeping?" Asked the huntsman, without turning around

"I should be zhe one asking that. Aren't you still recovering?" Replied Paul while crossing his arms

"Pfff I'm fine" Stated Qrow "Besides, we have work to do today"

"Did you finally arrange zhat meeting with Lionheart?"

"Took me a bit, but I managed to set up a time for us to meet"

"You'd think he'd take priority over us und set up some time for a meeting" Commented Paul

"Leo's a busy man, who knows what he's dealing with"

Qrow asked Paul to wake up the others while he made breakfast. He managed to wake up Jaune with no issues. For some reason, Ren was already awake when he knocked, so all he had to do was ask him to wake up Nora. When it was Ruby's turn, Paul decided to get more creative. When she didn't answer after he knocked repeatedly, he slowly creaked open the door to her room. Quietly picking up a pillow, he made his way over to her bed. When he was close enough, he raised the pillow, and an evil grin formed on his face. Ruby jolted awake in complete panic and confusion as she was being repeatedly whacked across the face with a pillow. She tried to get a word in, but she was once again whacked. She put her arms up to protect herself, but that just made him attack the back of her head instead. After a couple more seconds, Paul finally felt merciful and stopped tormenting Ruby. He dropped the pillow took off running while laughing. He made sure to leave the door wide open when he entered, because he didn't want to stay for the inevitable shitstorm that was gonna form.

Just like he thought, an enraged scream was heard from Ruby's room. He was already downstairs by this point. Qrow was giving him a tired look that said "What did you do now?".  Soon, everyone began coming down for breakfast. Everyone except Ruby that is. She came down later than the others looking extremely angry.

"Good morning Rub-"

"Don't talk to me, asshole!" She said while walking past, kicking at his feet

Ren gave him the same look Qrow had given him a few minutes ago. Paul just shrugged it off.

After everyone was done eating, Qrow briefed them on the plan for that day. At 7:30, they would head out towards Haven academy to meet with Lionheart. Afterwards, they'd have the whole day to themselves, and they could go out and explore the city if they wished.

Paul was quite fond of that idea. He was honestly tired of being stuck in a house for 5 days straight. He was planning on going out the day before, but some heavy rain stopped that plan right in its tracks. Ren did go out at some point during the third day. Paul saw him entering with some much needed bags of groceries in hand.
