Chpter 23 - Moonlight Mile

"For the emperor!!!" Ruby exclaimed as her army of Ultramarines moved across the table, crushing what remained of Albert's tyranid army. They had spent all afternoon bored out of their minds doing whatever. They played board games, watched movies, or just watch videos on their scrolls. All in an attempt to kill time. That morning, Qrow had announced that they would go out and investigate today, but he didn't mention some crucial details like at what time they left the house, or what exactly would they be doing in this investigation.

Kropp sighed and started organizing his tyranids back on the table. "Vhy do I always get the lamest team?"

"Hey, tyranids are not lame" Ruby said "They're a ruthless, savage, hive mind that eat and destroy everything in their path. God, I wish they were real so I could kick their asses in the name of the emperor!"

"You realize you just described Grimm right?"

"I did?" Ruby tilted her head

"Mhm"

"Are Grimm a hive mind?" She asked

"I don't zhink so. Wait are they?" He asked Ozpin

A second passed before Ruby got her answer

"They're not"

Their conversation was cut short when they heard some footsteps coming from the stairs. Qrow had finally come out of his room and came over to check on them.

"Hey there kiddos, what are you guys playing" He asked

"We just finished a game of 40K" Ruby replied

"Still sticking to those nerdy games huh?"

Ruby chuckled before replying. "You know me uncle Qrow"

"Well start putting away those figures, we're leaving in 10" Qrow stated before leaving for the kitchen

10 Minutes later, team JNPRR was lined up at the door. The other Germans preferred to stay in the house, and chill for the rest of the night. This actually was for the better, since too many people would've brought unwanted attention to their investigation.

Qrow looked at the team, and sighed "Only one German eh"

"You sound disappointed" Jaune remarked

"I would've hoped for more of them to join in this mission"

"Why do you say that?" Ren asked

"Because I can assure you that they won't start complaining halfway through the mission."

"What do you mean complaining!?" Nora exclaimed

"Ohh I'm tired, I'm getting bored, can we go home yet?" Qrow said in a mocking tone

"How old do you think we are, five? We won't start complaining in the middle of a mission?" Nora said

"Yeah, and besides, we're all excited to finally do some real huntsmen work" Ruby backed her up

"What would you describe as "real huntsmen work", Ruby?" Qrow asked

"Like investigating key locations around the city, asking questions, following people who look suspicious, etc." Ruby listed

"I can assure you that it's nothing like that. All that stuff you see in movies and read in books is total bullshit. If you go ahead with your plan, you'll end up with a bunch of cold shoulders, 0 leads on the Branwens, and a restraining order."
