In the halls of teenage dreams anew,
A girl stepped forth, her heart askew.
New in school, a monitor she became,
Teacher's pet, she earned her name.
But in August's breeze, love did stir,
Her heart danced, emotions a blur.
For a boy, though not convention's grace,
She found beauty in his different face.
Dark skin, wore glasses, and a mind so bright,
He topped in class, a shining light.
Flirting began, she felt the spark,
Her first crush, lighting up the dark.
But alas, his love was but a game,
A moment, not the same.
In October's chill
Two days of love
He pushed her away, with cruel text
To date his friend, his heart not free.
She hid her tears, behind a mask,
Heartbroken, but still she basked.
Crying in shadows, alone she wept,
Her pain, a secret, deeply kept.
He laughed and joked, without a care,
While she suffered, her soul laid bare.
Days turned to weeks, she found solace new,
In another's eyes, attention true.
But love's game, once again revealed,
His words of comfort, falsely sealed.
Her heart now wanders, lost in the fray,
From one love to another, day by day.
Yet in the end, through tears and strife,
She finds her strength, in the life.
