"Millin" Delilah says as she watches the intern pace back and fourth outside one of the OR's "Dr. Millin" she says
"What!?" Jules snaps, her face immediately clouded with fear as she locks eyes with the blonde "Dr. Freeman, I am so sorry I-"
"What's wrong?" Delilah asks
Jules freezes for a moment, not expecting the blonde to react so calmly "I'm about to amputate a 19 year olds leg" she replies
"Okay?" Delilah questions "You're not excited?" she asks "Most interns would be over the moon"
"No I am" Jules reassures "I'm just worried"
"You'll be fine" Delilah replies
"You don't know that" Jules replies
Delilah shrugs "Fair point. But I have faith in you. Besides, you're not in there on your own" she adds
"I know" Jules replies
"Which OR are you in?" Delilah asks
"Uh, four" Jules replies
"Okay" Delilah says beginning to walk away
"Where are you going?" Jules asks
"To the gallery" Delilah replies
"You're gonna watch?" Jules questions
"Yeah"

"I thought you were getting to scrub in with Dr. Ndugu" Yasuda says to Kwan as the two interns take a seat in-front of Delilah in the gallery
"His wife rescheduled it" Kwan replies "He's married to Dr. Pierce, and there are clearly issues"
"Ah, do they back-seat-drive each other's rectals?" Yasuda asks
"What is that a euphemism for?" Kwan questions in confusion
"Nothing. I literally just experienced that with Dr. Altman and Dr. Hunt" Yasuda replies
"Why is everyone married to each other?" Kwan asks
"Because doctors have no lives and no time to meet normal people" Delilah replies making both interns look up at her, clearly not releasing she was there before
Luckily for Yasuda her phone goes off "Great" she mutters rushing out
Delilah's attention is brought back to the OR when she hears Jules say through the intercom "Are you flirting with me on a sick patient's leg?" she asks Link
The older man looks at her mortified "No. No, no, no. No, no, no. No. Crap. No. That is not me flirting. That is me being an encouraging teacher. Supportive. In an appropriate way. Uh, I didn't put a winky face next to it or anything. I-I genuinely don't want you to cut off the wrong leg" he defends
Jules nods, she quickly glances up at Delilah who sends her a small smile of support "Ten blade, please" the intern says confidently

"I know this goes against everything you've been taught, but you need to cut harder" Link instructs "All the way through the joint, layer by layer"
Suddenly the OR door swings open "Griffith?" Link questions
The intern steadies her breathing "The food poisoning was a distractor. Chase has meningococcus"
"His cultures came back?" Link asks
"Not finalized, but I checked his records. He was never vaccinated for it, and his gram stain is showing gram-negative diplococci. Meningococcus would explain the septic shock. Not to mention, it's common in college..."
"College dorms" Link says
"There's too much blood. I-I can't control the bleeding" Jules says clearly panicking "Oh, God"
"He's not clotting properly due to the DIC. Damn it" Link says rushing over to take her place
"I did everything you told me to!" Jules says clearly trying to calm herself down. Delilah wanted nothing more than to walk into that OR and take the brunette into her arms, letting her know everything way okay
"Crap" Delilah signs as her pager begins to go off, she glances back down at Jules quickly, the brunettes gaze fixated on the mess in-front of her, panic evident in her eyes. But Delilah couldn't stay, she had patients. And patients are her priority.

Delilah exits the OR after performing an emergency c-section, both the mother and baby were going to be okay. The euphoric feeling running through her veins was unmatched. As she made her way through the hospital hallways she catches Jules sat on a gurney, her face buried in a book although Delilah could tell that was just an attempt to hide the fact she was crying.
The blonde slowly approaches the intern, only when she takes a seat next to her does Jules look up.
"Oh hi" Jules says rubbing her eyes "Sorry, did you need a hand in OB, because I'm ready- I can do it" she says getting up
"Millin" Delilah says sternly "Sit" she instructs making the brunette instantly do as she's told "What happened with your patient?" she asks
Jules clears her throat "He um- he's alive, lost his leg but he's alive"
"Okay, so what's bothering you?" she asks
"I couldn't control the bleeding. I had a 19 year old kid on my table and I struggled to control the bleeding" Jules replies
"Well, you're an intern. Any intern would've struggled, that's why you have attending's in the OR with you" Delilah replies
"I know" Jules sighs "It just doesn't feel good"
Delilah looks at her sympathetically "Come with me" she instructs as she stands up
"Where?" Jules questions
Delilah tilts her head to the side "Just trust me" she replies with a smile
"Okay" Jules agrees following the blonde
The brunette followed the older woman into the gift shop "It's the only place in the hospital that smells good" Delilah says as they enters "Like peppermint"
"It's eucalyptus" Jules corrects as she follows Delilah to the back of the shop
"Stuffed animals are pretty soft, too" the blonde says picking up a panda and moving its paw to make it wave a Jules
The interns smiles at the gesture "Stuffed animals?" she questions with a smile
"Yeah. They help relieve anxiety" Delilah replies throwing the panda at Jules "You should pick one for all the other interns"
"They're $12 each" Jules points out
Delilah shrugs "I didn't say you had to pay for them"
"Are you sure?" Jules asks
"Yes" Delilah replies
Jules smiles at her "Thank you" she say softly
Delilah smiles in return and watches as Jules begins to choose what stuffed animal each intern would like.
