Jimin was reduced to a bundle of nerves in an instant, and his ears didn't register a single word that came out of Beomgyu's mouth across him. His mind was taken over by one thought—why would Kim Namjoon come here?
Had he come here to see Taehyung?
Jimin couldn't help but shoot him several looks, but he couldn't detect anything out of the ordinary from Taehyung's demeanour. Meanwhile, Taehyung had taken notice of Jimin's line of sight; he held Jimin's hand under the table and slightly tightened his grip.
Taehyung didn't even recognise Kim Namjoon as his father. Even if Namjoon had inquired where they were dining tonight, there was no reason for him to rush over and wait for Taehyung here.
Jimin couldn't figure it out. He didn't tell Taehyung about this until the meal ended, his mind clouded with hesitation.
When they finished eating, Taehyung stood up and offered a hand to Jimin.
Jimin glanced at him. He wanted to high-five him at first, but upon second thoughts, he conscientiously took hold of his hand, presenting the impression of an affectionate couple. Taehyung then led him to the staircase and slowly descended to the first floor.
Seungmin trailed after them.
While Jimin was positive, from the bottom of his heart, that there was nothing going on between Taehyung and Seungmin at this point in time, he couldn't help but furtively stick a little closer to Taehyung.
As a result, Taehyung transferred Jimin's grip from his right hand to his left, then wrapped his right hand around Jimin's waist.
Their posture was exceedingly intimate. Jimin had no choice but to lean on Taehyung's body. He was somewhat uneasy, yet he couldn't just push Taehyung away either.
Once they reached the entrance of the private restaurant, Jimin saw that, as expected, Namjoon's car was parked nearby, but he couldn't see the man in the car through the window.
Right then, Beomgyu piped up, "Someone's here to pick me up." His tone was laced with delight, as though the fact that someone had come to pick him up was cause for celebration.
Taehyung smiled faintly. "Have a safe trip, rest well."
Beomgyu gave a nod. "Let's get together again when you're free, President Kim." After that, he said goodbye to Seungmin and skipped over to Namjoon's car.
Jimin remained frozen where he stood as he watched Beomgyu pull open the car door. The sapphire blue vehicle soon roared to life and sped away from the restaurant's entrance.
Namjoon never got out of the car or showed his face the entire time. Jimin was certain that Taehyung hadn't seen him, so... had Namjoon known that the person dining with Beomgyu tonight was his son? And what was his relationship with Beomgyu? Could Beomgyu be his illegitimate child as well?
Jimin subconsciously frowned..
Taehyung lowered his head to look at him. "What are you staring at?"
"Pardon?"
"Beomgyu's already gone," said Taehyung.
"Right." Jimin forced his eyes away and finally couldn't help himself from shaking off Taehyung's arm, pretending to stretch his arms.
Seungmin was standing in front of them. He smiled as he said, "I'd best get going too then."
Taehyung nodded. "Drive safe."
Seungmin waved at them and walked over to where his car was parked.
"Don't stare, the guy's already gone," said Jimin.
