For the next few days, my mind ponders over Damian and I's phone call.

Was that his girlfriend? No, there's no way. His parents would've found out and never have set him up on dates in the first place

My mind was racing a million miles a minute. I check my phone to see if there were any missed calls or texts from Damian.

"Hey, why don't we have dinner this Saturday? Anywhere but Peak's Kitchen. Haha."

I smile at his text, feeling like I had forgotten about the whole thing about him being with a girl.

"I'd love to. Know any other good restaurants around here?" I reply back.

Within seconds, Damian almost instantly responds back to me.

I sit on my bed with anticipation, feeling myself fall in love with him like a love-sick girl in high school.

"How about Chic Cuisine? It's not too far from your house."

"Sounds great. I'll be there. What time should I leave?"

"Don't worry about leaving. I'll pick you up at 7pm. Dinner reservations will be at. 8:00."

I found myself smiling at his texts.

Ugh, I should really just focus on pretending to like him and push my feelings down

"Okay. I'm looking forward to it."

"Likewise." Damian responds.

I set my phone down on my bed, feeling my jealousy turn into joy.

Maybe that girl with him was just a one night thing. In the meantime, I have to pick out outfits and make sure I look perfect for Saturday

I walk down the stairs and see my parents sitting at the kitchen table, drinking coffee together. Their eyes turn to me as they watch me walk over toward them.

"Hey, mom and dad. I have some exciting news!"

My parents give each other a curious look before turning their attention back to me. I watch as they shift in their seats, giving me their attention.

"So, Damian just texted me and he wants to go on a date with me this Saturday! Isn't that amazing?" I couldn't hide my emotions any longer.

"That's great, sweetheart!" My dad beams, setting down his cup of coffee.

"We're going to Chic Cuisine. Do you know how hard that place is to get into?" I clap my hands together.

"That restaurant is one of the most impossible places to get into in town!" My mom repeats. The people there must know Damian's family really well."

"That's the place I wanted to take your mom to on our first date." My dad sighs, a wave of nostalgia coming over him.

"Oh, honey," my mom sets down her coffee. "I was happy anywhere you took me."

"And that is why our marriage has been successful for over 20 years." My dad grins.

"Yuck." I grimace. I watch as the two of them get lost into each other's eyes.

"Well anyways, our date is in two days and I am in need of an outfit." I emphasize.

"Let's go to the store and have a shopping day together then, honey." My mom suggests.

"Oh my goodness! We haven't done one in forever!" My eyes light up at the thought of going.

Ever since I was a young teenager and made my own money, I had become a big spender. My money always went to food, clothes, and definitely the cutest accessories and the most expensive perfume I could find.
