"Emma, please can you chill out? I love you, don't get me wrong, but I'm trying to finish this drawing," said Adeline, doing her best to not snap. She was focusing intensely on her artwork, as the pair were in Hyde Park, choosing to spend the day relaxing, in Emma's case, or focusing on a charcoal sketch for her portfolio, in Adeline's. Maybe not relaxing, per say, since Emma was dancing around as Addie attempted to focus.
"Only if we can meet Charlie for ice cream as soon as you're done? You said you were close nearly an hour ago! We have to go for dinner anyways," replied Emma, eager to get her daily sugar intake. Charlie, their friend, had been working the afternoon shift at a diner, which had ended nearly an hour and a half ago. It was a Thursday night, so they had plans for the usual weekly dinner.
"Oh fine," groaned Adeline. "I'm almost done anyways, just give me a minute or two to finish this sketch, and then I can pack up and we can leave."
"Perfect! Now please actually mean a minute or two, don't take another fifteen. It's starting to get a little late, especially if we want to have an earlier dinner," bantered Emma. She was the goofy one out of the trio, always willing to take a crack at anything and everything.
Adeline sighed, knowing Emma wouldn't stop asking her if she would be done soon. In truth, it would take at least another thirty to forty-five minutes for her to be anywhere near done. Since she didn't have work tomorrow, she'd be able to come back and finish. She began to put her charcoal pencils back in their case, getting ready to leave.
"Finally! Let's go, we've been here all day," said Emma, right as Addie began to pack up. Emma put all the charcoal sticks in their respective cases, more than ready to move on with her day. She generally wasn't impatient, but she was definitely sick of being in the same place for the whole day.
As Adeline finished putting her notebook in her tote bag, the pair got up from their comfortable spot on the ground. They walked out of Hyde Park, chatting idly. The route to Henry's house was a simple instinct for both of them, it was uncommon for the three of them to not meet up after a day like this one.
They climbed the steps of Henry's flat building in silence, since the walls were really thin and it was always fun to hear the other neighbors gossip. They had just reached his flat and Emma had barely rung the bell when Henry opened the door.
"Dee-dee! Emma! What's the plan for today?" asked an eager Henry Jones as the door swung open. He was practically a golden retriever, that was one of the very few things the trio could agree upon.
Emma latched on his arm and tugged him out of the flat, spying the key in his hand. Addie slammed the door shut, and they were on their way.
"So I was thinking ice cream, then museum, then dinner?" suggested Adeline. She knew neither Henry nor Emma was a fan of museums, but she had recently found one that would probably be of interest to them.
When the others replied positively, they made their way down the stairs and out the door. The ice cream shop was just down the road, and thankfully it wasn't very expensive.
"Could we please get a scoop of espresso in a cup, two scoops of Oreo in a cone, and a scoop of raspberry sorbet in another cup?" said Addie as she placed the order. She never had to ask what they wanted, she was the only person who changed up her order. Henry would rarely ask for lemon sorbet instead of raspberry, but Emma would never stray away from Oreo.
"Here are your ice creams, ma'am," replied the man at the counter, handing the three ice creams to their respective owners.
"Thank you very much!" Emma interjected before Adeline could say anything. Addie was the one with the pristine, proper manners. In fact, she had been told that if she were to be asked to dine with the Queen of England, her manners would probably be perfect for the situation. It was one of her several traits that stemmed from her childhood in Asgard.
