The smart choice would be entering the ID. The sooner he learned to use his skills and gain new ones, the better. If anything, he should at least spend a few minutes in there to get started.

[Good choice! Think or say "Instant Dimension" to activate the skill.]

'Instant Dimension.'

The room that surrounded him was replaced with a lush forest. Looking up, he found the sun just barely peeking over the horizon. 'Morning, then.' Looking to his left, he saw a creek and a few fish. And to his left he saw a field of trees. It was there he met his first challenge.

[A quest has been issued! Take a look!]

Please think or say "Quests"

'This system has quite a few functions. Quests.'

[Quests]

1. You are not Steve

Objective: Find a way to get wood.

Reward: 1 level

'Simple enough.'

Although he didn't like the idea of someone telling him what to do, this quest only appeared after he wanted and failed to get wood. In other words, it was born from his desire and not the system's.

Free levels are good anyway.

As for the quest, he could see two ways of completing it. 1: Go to a village and get some materials. Or 2: Find a way to use Holy Power to cut down the tree. The latter was a lot more appealing to him because finding a village could take all day, if he was lucky.

Sitting down, he tried to call on that power like he did Instant Dimension. But it didn't work.

[Unlike Instant Dimension, Holy Power is a passive skill. Calling its name won't activate it.]

'Is that so?' Markus hummed in thought. 'Maybe Meditation, then? I'm already sitting down.'

He had never tried Meditation before, but he figured it could be a good way to find the energy in his body. It doesn't hurt to try, at least. He sat there for a few minutes. Trying and failing to clear his mind. He didn't give up.

20 minutes later, he felt it. It was like nothing he had ever experienced. And a feeling of comfort, certainty, and grace filled him. This energy... was perfect. Markus was glad he tried so hard to find it. Having almost given up several times.

Relaxing for a moment, he began to draw on this power. Pulling from his gut, up to his shoulders, and then finally his hands as a golden glow lit up the forest. And for a moment, the life around him resonated. Growing greener and all around healthier.

Then, he formed that power into an axe. It took a few tries, and a lot of focus, but he was eventually able to make a golden-yellow axe about the size of a hatchet. When he opened his eyes, he couldn't help but be amazed by his creation.

[Congratulations! You have gained the skill [Meditation]!]
