"HEY, HAVE YOU HEARD THE RUMOR? THE ONE ABOUT THE WITCH THAT WAS PROMISED TO BE LOVED NO MATTER WHAT? THEY SAY THAT SHE—" He was cut off with an abrupt wack to the head by a certain hand fan that a witch held. "Finish that nonsense and I'll have you sleep on the couch tonight." The ravenette remarked coldly as he chuckled, placing a hand on her head. "You wouldn't do that."
"You'll tempt me, Teru." Nora hummed. "Hm, speaking of temptation, should we go back into the clock and try and travel into the future? Maybe try ten years from now and see if we're married yet?" That had earned him the final straw where she didn't hold back and used the full strength of her hand to hit the back of his head. "Ow."
"Was ten too much? What about five?" He tried again, flinching when the witch sent him a glare. It sent a chill down his spine and it was his signal to drop the subject. But before he did so, she drawled a bit.
"Maybe three is a good number." Nora mumbled as quiet as a mouse .. but he alone was able to hear it, immediately turning his head with widened eyes to the girl. "What?"
"Did something happen, Teru?" She raised a brow, playing dumb, innocently tilting her head to the side.
He laughed lightly and shook his head. "No, nothing happened."
The canary haired boy was content with the girl walking by his side in that very moment. She was a human again .. they returned back to their original present but instead .. they reset the very day that the ordeal happened—the day of the school festival.
Nora and Kako re-altered the terms of their agreement for the sake of their own respective interests.
For Kako .. as long as Mirai could return to him unharmed and they didn't create an even worse present where the school was destroyed .. he would allow them to travel back in time once. It was once and only once.
If they failed, it was simple, Nora would become a supernatural indefinitely.
If they succeeded, she would get to keep her position as a human with the exception of whenever she transformed into a clock keeper where then, she would become a supernatural, just as Akane was.
They still permitted him to retain his memories and even his vision of apparitions to help out the newbie clock keeper. He even held some of his old powers and transformation still with the exception of his ability to stop time, unless Nora transferred it over to him, then it would be her choice. It was only fair considering he had been a clock keeper for several years now and she was already their yorishiro.
Nora would be the clock keeper of the present until her own dying breath in that life of hers. For them, that was a fair deal.
