Jamie's POV
I rolled out of bed. My side still hurt and it just reminded me even more about yesterday. I hadn't slept all night. Tossing and turning util all my blankets and pillows were thrown to the floor. The pain wasn't what kept me awake though. It was the confusion.
What had happened yesterday?
I just couldn't forget those eyes. Luke's eyes. Bright blue. And looking straight into mine.
I found myself day dreaming, but I came back to reality when my phone chimed. I looked at the screen with the text I just got.

Quick! I've got big news!

Cool. Big news. That will help me get my mind off things. I got dressed, trying not to let my thoughts drift toward what happened yesterday. Once I was ready, (if you count badly dressed with bags under the eyes ready) I went outside to meet Chloe.
Chloe's POV
I quickly got dressed, and ran downstairs. I grabbed my phone and sent Jamie a text. Then I proceeded to the door with my book bag in hand. Running outside, the cool morning breeze hit my face making me shiver. Thankfully it was suppose to warm up in the afternoon.
I ran over to Jamie's house next door. I had to wait like 5 whole minutes before he came out. My smile faded as I ran my eyes over him. His hair was a tangled mess, his clothes were wrinkled, he had two different shoes on, and big black bags surrounded his eyes. "Didn't get enough sleep?" I asked.
"Is it that noticeable?" he asked, his voice groggy. "Ummm..." I pondered what to say.
"Be honest." he said & gave me that Jamie look. He knew me so well. I would fall for that look every time. I can't stand to lie to him. "You look like you ran over by a bus. There I said it!" I yelled. He chuckled and ran his hand through his messy hair.
"And I love the different shoes thing." I said sarcastically. He looked down surprised. "Oh. I didn't even notice that part." he said. He quickly ran inside and came out a couple minutes later looking decent. But there was nothing he could do about those big puffy bags that were beneath his eyes. "Better... I guess." I said and he grinned.
"Why didn't you get enough sleep?" I asked out of curiosity. "Nothing." he said, not even looking at me. I could tell he was lying. "What is the real answer Jamie?" I folded my arms over my chest and stared at him. "Just couldn't get comfortable, ya know." he replied.
He was still lying. "Jamie." I said and he finally looked at me. I tried to give him the same look he always gives me. But it didn't work. "What the hell are you doing Chloe?!"
I quit the stupid look and sighed. "I was trying to do that look that makes you tell the truth." I whined. "Chloe just trust me. It's nothing. If something was wrong I would've told you. Okay?" I looked at him to see if I believed him. His brown eyes stared back at mine and they seemed to be telling the truth. "Okay." I replied. He smiled and checked his phone. "Oh shoot. We better get to school."
"Oh you're right!" i said and we hurried down the street towards school. "Hey what was that big news you were gonna tell me?" he asked.
"You're never gonna believe it, but..... IM JOINING THE CHEER TEAM!" I yelled. He stopped in his tracks. "Your joking." he said.
"I know, I know. At first I didn't like the thought of it either, but I gave it some thought. I'm pretty good at gymnastics and it seemed like something I could do." I explained to him. He just stared disapprovingly. "What?!" I asked defensively.
"Where did you get this idea because I know you didn't think of it yourself. For the longest time you always complained that cheerleader were bitches. What happened? Why are you suddenly wanting to become a bitch Chlo?!" his voice on the verge of yelling.
"Woah calm down." I said. "It wasn't exactly my idea. Luke suggested it."
"Ugh Luke." he said under his breath, but I heard him. "What the hell?! What's wrong with Luke? He's our friend the last time I checked." I said, starting to get mad as well.
"It's nothing. Let's just get to school, Okay? We're almost late anyway." then he just walked away. I sped walked to catch up to him. "I don't know what's your problem lately but the try outs are right after school. If you want to watch then show up." I offered but her didn't say anything. I waited the whole walk for him to say something but he didn't, and before long we were in school.
Jamie's POV
"We're almost late anyway." I said, walking away quickly. Why was she all up in my business anyway?! I had a bad nights sleep, that's it.
I did feel a little bad for the way I talked to her, but I just couldn't tell her. I'm not even sure myself what is wrong with me. I kept walking even though she had stopped. I can't believe she is gonna try out for cheerleading. When I said that cheerleaders were bitches I meant it. The cheer girls at our school were the meanest people you coul ever meet. They could ruin your life within minutes. Now Chloe is gonna try and become one of them?! Ugh, it disgusts me.
Chloe suddenly caught up to me. "I don't know what's your problem lately but the try outs are right after school. If you want to watch then show up." she said. I didn't respond. I just need some time to think that's all. I don't even know if I'll come to the try outs anyway.
By the time we got to school the bell had just rung. We ran to class and made it just before the door shut. Usually we would laugh and race each other to class, but today neither of us talked on the way there. The whole day we never really talked. I sat through the many classes daydreaming about different things. My mind would always drift to Luke every now and then, but I would quickly push those thoughts away. Eventually I decided that I would go to Chloe's try outs to watch her, but only because I needed to get my mind off things. Only because of that.
