Tanjiro looked up from the table, and stared at you with eager eyes "Why yes, after living for almost five centuries i felt bored of using all the techniques so i came up with the second chapter of sun breathing."

"But onisan, how and why can we use other breathing techniques? Shouldn't it be only one?"

After taking large gulps of your matcha tea, you let out a refreshed sighed and put down the cup "My second big brother was the creator of the sun breathing or hinokami kagura."

You sighed "Back then, when he taught the old slayers of the sun breathing, no one was able to match his strength, stance, power and speed. So he created other versions and branches of hinokami kagura. Which makes him the father of all breathing techniques."

"In history, past sun breathers mastered other techniques which the hashiras use now. It's like when you climb to the top of a tree, you are above it's branches and you can use those. Imagine the tree is the sun breathing, and the tree branches are other breathing styles. Does that answer your question?"

Tanjiro was in disbelief, when he heard this from Kagaya, he doubted his words a little and went to confirm it from you.

"You used a hinokami kagura form during the fight with the train demon, congrats." you clapped your hands "I can finally show you the basics."

"Really!?" Tanjiro was elated, when he asked Rengoku about Hinokami Kagura aka Sun Breathing, it was only his father who knew about it. Since Tanjiro was still recovering from the fight, he wasn't able to visit the Rengoku estate yet.

"Let's visit Kyojuro's house this afternoon. If thats fine-"
"YES MA'AM!"

"Whoa whoa, don't get too excited" You held out your hand when Tanjiro almost stumbled to the ground from jumping.

All that excitement went down, unfortunately.

"You! Those earrings!" Rengoku's father, Shinjuro had a rude entrance. He pointed at Tanjiro's earrings, that's when you came out of his shadows, taking advantage of the fact that Tanjiro is taller than you. "Morning sir"

"Another sun breather-" His words were stuck in his throat when his eyes fell on your bamboo hat "Cat got your tongue?" You chuckled at his expression. He looked like he saw a ghost.

"Nisan, let me talk with him" you nodded and watched Tanjiro try to greet the angry man.

That escalated quickly, Shinjuro was pinning Tanjiro down now. Rengoku's little brother, Senjuro, tried to remove his dad from Tanjiro but failed when his own dad just smacked him away.

"Ow..." Senjuro gave up, knowing that his father will never give up strangling Tanjiro. "Hey there" you approached him "Hello- wait, aren't you the girl that saved my big brother!?"

"Save? Well...kind of?" Senjuro suddenly hugged you "Thank thank you!" You shyly waved your hand "Don't mention it, but about your dad....is he always like that?"

You still looked at Tanjiro who was desperately trying to get out of Shinjuro "My dad is a former hashira, which explains his strength...he became like this after....our mom died..."

Well that explains it.

Senjuro's expression turned bitter remembering his mom's death.
