Chapter 24: The Story

After what had happened, amethyst stood still. Like a rock, not even the wind can faze him.

Both him and his sister is currently walking, when amethyst just randomly stopped.

His face was drained with life, the star in his eye lost its shine. His sister, ruby hoshino asked out of worry.

" Ame-niichan are you alright? " The worried gaze of the younger sibling never left the elder one. " What happened? "

Each seconds passing, the worry that had been built up, grew even more.

" W-What was that? " Amethyst finally spoke. " What's what ame-niichan? "

" I saw.... " Amethyst tried to explain what had happened. No words came out from his mouth. " You saw what ame-niichan? "

Ruby supports amethyst to take a seat on a nearby bench.

" Take a deep breath ame-niichan " Ruby tried her best to stay calm. Deep inside she was panicking as well. But, she doesn't want to add another problem on top of this predicament. " Here, drink some water... "

Amethyst thanked ruby, and drank the water ruby gave.

After some time, amethyst finally composed himself. He sighed to remove the tension between both him and his sister.

" I want to ask you something ruby... " Amethyst redirected his focus to the sky. " Do you believe in god? "

Ruby was confused. Why would his brother ask something like this?

" I kinda do? Maybe? " She cringed at herself for not answering straight. She covered her eyes, expecting the insult just like how aqua insults her, everytime she makes a mistake.

But instead, she heard his brother chuckle.

" I see, you're unsure as well... " He wanted to tell her, but would there be consequences? Would she sympathize him? Would she treat him like his brother still? " Basically.... I wanted to say that I met god "

" Huh? " Ruby was confused. Did her brother just say that he met god? Has he gone crazy? " Are you going crazy ame-niichan? "

" I am not.... " Amethyst answered. His answer was straight, and no lies laced with his words. " Well... That's great I guess? I don't know how to react to that... "

Ruby answered. After answering, they got on a long silence. Birds chirping and the loud cars that passes was the only sound that can be heard.

" It seems that It's getting dark now... " Ruby said. " Would you like to return back home? "

" Not yet " amethyst replied. " I want to gather all my senses back... "

" Alright.... "

" Ruby, what would you think of being reborn? " Amethyst asked. " Huh? "

" Do you think it's destiny? " Amethyst asked. " I don't know... Why are you asking this questions ame-niichan? "

" Well, you see... A long long time ago... " Amethyst began. " There was a young boy, birthed from a rich family. He was always treated as an outcast. So one day, he left the family. He began taking on a job... "

" What job exactly? " Ruby asked clearly intrigued by the story.

" Well, he had a very complicated job. Every morning he was a bartender, but at night, he was an assassin. " Amethyst explained. " One day, a detective came on the place that he was working on. She was a very odd one to say the least... She always messes up her facade. "

" It goes on for a long time... Her purpose of staying at first was to investigate, but now, she stays to meet the person she fell for. "

" The man also fell for her. They both got a good synergy. Until, that day happened. "

Amethyst stood up and walked. Ruby who was immersed stood up as well.

" W-Wait! You're not going to finish it?! " Ruby frustratedly asked. " What happened in that day? "

" That story is already done ruby... Who knows what had happened that day " amethyst smiled. " Thank you for spending time with me today ruby.... I really appreciate it. "

" O-Oh! No need to thank me ame-niichan.... " Ruby blushed. " I was the one that invited you so it's a given. "

" Alright let's go." Amethyst said. " What manga did you say I need to read again? "

" Tinkle tinkle hoy! It's really good! " Ruby laughed. " I promise it's wholesome! Ah! You're only trying to change the topic weren't you?! "

" No I'm not... "
