Chapter 9

Will's Pov ☀️☀️☀️

I take off my doctor coat. Under it I wear a loose Camp Half-Blood T Shirt and cargo shorts. I smile and take Nico's hand and drag him to the strawberry fields. 

Soon the red and ripe fruits emerge from below the hill along with the green hues of the vines as they creeped along the floor.

"Race you!" and with that, I start running down to the strawberry fields.

"Hey! Wait up!!"

My legs carry my there first, probably because of the fact that I was taller and much more faster than little, gremlin, Nico over here. I chuckle and nudge him. We both are out off breath and panting.

Nico sits down on the dirt and folds his legs and sighs. I pluck a few strawberries from a nearby vine and pass one to Nico who takes it graciously. 

I can't help but admire the way he eats his strawberries... he first sucks on the juice in them and then bites into them, making juice fall all over his lips, the acids making them appear red and swollen.

"What!?"

"Nothing..." I shrug and lay on my back, with my hands behind my head. Nico follows me and we both lay next to each other in a comfortable silence. 

I point to the sky and says,"There's Cassiopeia." I look over at Nico for a brief moment. 

"You know the Greek myths, right? This one is pretty interesting. Cassiopeia lived on an island far from Greece and married Cepheus-" 

Nico cuts in, "I know it. The one where she bragged about being prettier than the seas."

 I smile. "Yeah." Will points over to another constellation. 

"There's Andromeda." He pauses, trying to read Nico's expression.

Nico nods silently. The crickets are chirping in the background as Will points out his favorite constellations, explaining the stories behind them. 

Finally, I point up and says, "And there's Lyra. You can see the swan there..." I pause, looking over at Nico's face, illuminated underneath the moonlight. They sat in silence for a while, staring up at the sky.

Nico's Pov 💀💀💀

Nico's heart is thumping in his chest as he takes in Will's pretty features in the moonlight as he points out his favorite constellations. 

"Have you ever thought about getting a girlfriend?" Will asked bluntly.

My eyes widened in response, shocked at the sudden mention of a romantic relationship. "What? Why are you bringing that up all the sudden?" I replied with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm just curious," said Will with a shrug as he sat closer to me. "We're pretty close, and I just thought I would have seen you with a girl by now."

"Well," I replied with a nervous chuckle, realising he better give a decent response now that it was brought up. "There are girls like Annabeth and... whoever else, but they're not really my type."

Will seemed unconvinced, raising his eyebrow at the answer.

"Oh yeah? And what is your type?" he teased with a hint of a smirk, clearly interested in the answer.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I snapped , turning toward Will. "Are you accusing me of hiding something?" I glared at Will, trying to cover up the vulnerability of the question.

Will's expression softened, "I'm sorry Nico. I didn't think you-"

But Nico wouldn't let him finish, "I like guys. Okay? Is that what you wanted to hear? You happy now that you know my secret?"

I felt tears well up in my eyes as Will looks shocked before I got up and ran. 

Like I always do.
