Tiny fingers laid upon your broad chest.
Nursery rhymes and your favorite rock songs
blast out into the night.
A gentle rhythmic sway puts me to sleep
in your arms safe and sound.
Being there again,
when nothing and everything matters
although memories are hazy,
looking through the fog
I certainly recall the happiness.
It was all perfect in that living room.
The fondest childhood memories,
are sandwiched in between the monotony
a glimmer, bright, incredible,
picturesque recollections
even now the smile comes.
Nostalgia a medicine
best taken on lazy days.
Without the troubles of adulthood that weigh
with a side of candies
to liven up the child that stays within.
Become excited again
about simplicities
silly faces and moments
when things occurred not according to plan.
But everything worked out in the end didn't it?
That moment, like every single other,
came to pass
it fades, but not the feeling
that lingers.
Reminding you, it was real
and you were there.
