- Chapter One

- Present Time

After all theses years, Sabrina Hart wasn't tennis anymore. She didn't want to play, it wasn't her life, she had lost the spark, the game she that once gave her happiness. It wasn't her and she didn't want to be apart of what now gives her heartache and pain.

She could feel, her face go heavy.
"A challenger?" Sabrina shook her head "No, the last time I played in a crowd, I- i can't go back out there, mom"

"This will be good for you" her mother said sternly, who wasn't just her mother but her coach. Sabrina Hart felt her world turn upside down, tennis isn't her, not anymore!

She couldn't face it anymore, the last time she played... The last time she was on a court. The last match, she had lost herself, she had lost apart of herself and forced to play a game she had no energy to play...

How could she have played a game, when she lost a baby?

Yes, she won that game, but there wasn't a spark, and let's face it, if it won't for Tashi Duncan's leg injury.

Sabrina Hart would have not won that match. Tennis wasn't the same!

"im not fucking playing" She said to her mother slamming her hands on the kitchen bench walking away upstairs to her bedroom.

Patrick Zwieg, stood outside the familiar house where his ex-girlfriend Sabrina Hart and their daughter, Gracie, resided.

Trepidation gnawed at his core as he contemplated whether to knock on the door. It had been a month since their last encounter, marred by an argument that had left an enduring wound. The argument had revolved around Gracie's DNA and whether Patrick was her biological father. Suspicions had crept into his mind, casting a shadow over his idyllic family life.

He had kept tabs on his best friend, Art Donaldson, the man who had always been suspiciously close to Sabrina, even after their supposed marriage to Tashi Duncan. Patrick had observed their secret meetings, their undeniable chemistry. Gracie was his, right? He couldn't bear the thought of her not being his flesh and blood. His heart skipped a beat as he reached out to knock, but the door swung open before he could make contact. Victoria, Sabrina's mother, stood in the doorway, her piercing gaze giving him the once-over.

"Are you just gonna stand there, kid, or you gonna come in?" Victoria's voice was laced with a hint of sarcasm. Sabrina's mother had never been fond of Patrick, considering him a disruptive force in her daughter's life.

Patrick nodded, stepping inside the house he had once called home. "Victoria," he greeted her, his voice strained. Victoria pointed towards the stairs, and as Patrick's feet began to ascend, a tiny voice filled the air.
