THAT SAME NIGHT –
AFTER THE TALK WITH TASHI

Sabrinas mind a swirling vortex of thoughts. Tashi's words echoed through her consciousness, haunting her like an ominous prophecy: 'You can walk away from tennis, but tennis doesn't walk away from you.'

later that night, her mother held a special dinner with the Hastings family, an unsettling realization had washed over Sarbina. She had always dismissed her mother's subtle hints about Nate Hastings, it dawned on her that her mother was orchestrating an elaborate setup.

The thought of being used as a pawn in her mother's matchmaking games filled Sarbina with a mix of anger and resignation. She had been single for months, uninterested in any romantic entanglements.

Patrick, had ghosted her without a trace, and Art had moved on with Tashi, who now held both men captive at her feet.

In the past, tennis had been her refuge, a sanctuary where she could escape the complexities of her personal life. But lately, the passion she once felt for the sport had waned. The game that had once defined her now felt hollow and unfulfilling. She couldn't pinpoint what was missing, but a gnawing emptiness lingered within her.

Sarbina realized that her disconnect from tennis was a reflection of a deeper void within her own life. She had been so focused on her career and the pursuit of success that she had neglected her true desires and emotions.

The realization that she had lost her way both on and off the court filled her with a sense of profound sadness.

Sarbina sat up in bed and reached for her phone. She dialed Tashi's number, her heart pounding in her chest. 'I need to talk to you,' she whispered into the receiver. As Sarbina poured out her doubts and uncertainties to her friend, Tashi listened patiently, her voice a soothing balm. 'Tennis is your life, Sarbina,' she said gently.

Tennis was her life,  but when and why didn't she feel like it was?

Later that night, after dinner

Sabrina and Nate, sitting on Sabrina's bed conversing..

Outside the window, a shadow moved. Art, his face etched with regret, watched the scene unfold. He had come to apologize, to tell Sarbina that he had made a mistake in choosing Tashi, that his heart belonged to her...

But as he witnessed the intimacy between Sarbina and Nate, he realized that his chance was gone.

She had moved on.
