The start of this tale has to do with a prophecy. Obviously.

There will come a king, a true king. Brave, just, kind, intelligent. He will wield spell and sword fluidly. All in all, the best king.

You are a mage, and a good one at that. You know all the old spells, can make news one, anything mage like. On top of that your highly educated.

You have studied the prophecy and realize it falls to you to birth and raise such a king. You can easily teach the child magic, mathematics, reading, the important stuff.

But of course you need a father for this prophecy baby. Someone to well, be the father. But to teach him how to fight, ride, hunt, care for his horse, build a fire and forage for food, how to conduct himself at court and talk to people.

And you have found such a father figure, a knight, a hermit living outside a village after shunning his old life
