SYLVIE
"I can't believe you don't know where the cocoa powder is", Vicky teases me, still laughing about it. I show her the middle finger, while I wonder around the storage room next to the kitchen.
"It used to be here for heaven's sake", I hiss. I swear I saw it here a few days ago. And I highly doubt we finished it all in that short time. No one even had hot chocolate ever since.
I make Vicky a sign with my hand to go into a ladder pose for me. Sighing, she does as I asked her too and I manage to climb on her hand to reach a higher shelf. I keep looking, however I can't actually say I have as much luck as I would have wished to.
"Why are we doing hot chocolate anyway?", Vicky asks me. "It's only November. Isn't hot chocolate like a December thing?"
"You tell me, you are the one who wanted it", I tell her, currently doing aerobics with the shelves.
"I did want it, didn't I?", she smirks. It's then she has to sneeze, that has her shaking, that makes her lose her balance. Meaning we both fall on top of each other on the floor.
"Ouch", she lets out, yet she's laughing at the same time. "Remind me to never ask for hot chocolate again."
"Definitely."
"Or we could just order it online", she suggests.
Rolling my eyes amused I already take out my phone, ready to place an order. We're so close to open the door and walk back outside, when we can hear some voices on the hallway.
"You're crazy", a deep voice tones from the other side of the door. My blood instinctively prickles at his presence.
Louis.
Vicky must have recognised the voice too, since she hits me in the rib cage. "What is his Royal Hotness doing here?"
I glare at her before we focus back on the conversation outside.
"Oh, come on, Louis. Live a little", my brother's voice tones next. "You know it's gone be fun."
"Hilarious", he answers dry. Then, more serious: "I get you inviting them, but what does Xander have to do with it all? You aren't even friends with him."
"It's a cabin for six."
"Who's the sixth?"
"TBD", he answers.
"You lost your mind", Louis continues.
I can only hear Edmund laugh.
As the voices seem to fade away, Vicky and I share a look and nod, planning to walk out. It's then the next surprise of the day comes. The door is locked.
"Fuck", Vicky speaks what the both of us were thinking. She starts shouting, as I try to open the door.
"I can't", I let out exasperated. "We're locked inside here, Vick."
"This is karma for eavesdropping", she mutters. "I'll hold you, you pull, okay?", she adds, coming around my back where she wraps her arms around my waist. I lean on to her touch, my only support being my back, as I lift my feet on the door and my hands gripping the doorknob.
"Look at us being like Totally Spies", she jokes.
"Shut up" I answer.
Only she starts laughing, so I start laughing, adding: "We're even dressed accordingly."
She's in a red crop top with some grey sweatpants, with her blonde hair remembering of Clover. Meanwhile me, in a green rib top and some black wavy shorts, my red hair in a ponytail, I seem to be more of a Sam.
"Where's the third one?", Vicky asks, not stopping to laugh.
It's then the door opens, and Vicky and I land again on the floor. "Guess we found the third one", she whispers in my air. I can't help it anymore, and burst out loud in laughter again, followed by my bestie.
"Everything alright, Trouble?", Louis' voice reaches my ears.
"Oh oh, plot twist", Vicky whispers to me before she stands up and helps me up too.
"Louis", I breathe, my eyes instantly finding his. "What are you doing here?"
"I believe I could ask the same thing", he says. It's then his gaze spots my best friend too. "Miss Cabot", he greets her.
"Your Royal Hot... Highness. Your Royal Highness", she thankfully corrects herself in time.
Louis opens his mouth to say something, but it's then a worried looking Edmund rushes in the room. As he sees me, he closes the distance between us and has me in a hug. "Sylvie", he lets out. "Are you alright?", he asks as he lets go. "I heard a thud and..."
"I'm fine", I assure him. Then, hugging him once more. "It's good to see you, brother."
"Good to see you", he counters. It's then he gives Vicky a soft smile. "You too, Victoria."
"Pleasure is all mine", she lets him kiss her hand.
Edmund then rearranges his shirt, and asks us: "Why don't we all take a moment in the sitting room? I asked Martha to make us some hot chocolate."
Cue the face slap.
Side-eyeing with Vicky, she lets out a chuckle as I can't help but grin. The guys started to look confused, so I break the awkward silence first. "We would love that."
It's then we follow the two outside the storage room.
"Told you it wasn't my fault", I elbow my bestie on the way.
"I never said that", she shrugs amused.
We manage to keep our shit together until we arrive in the sitting room and find the cocoa powder casually lying on the table. It's then we start laughing again, earning ourselves even more surprised glances from the guys.
Yet Vicky and I simply don't give a shit.
