Chapter 1: The Note

As I sat under the big tree of southgate park, I was reading a book levy had previously given me.

The title was "The Mermaid Pearl", I heard levy read it to her new born daughter, Gale, from time to time and became inerested in it.

As I flipped to the next page of the book I felt something touch my waist, but before I could react the person started tickling me and I started laughing out loud.

The book fell off my lap and I was tackled on the ground.

"HAHAHA...Na.....HAHAHA NATSU!!!" I yelled still laughing.

On top of me still tickling my side is my salmon spiky haired bestfriend with his famous grin.

"STOOOP!!!" I yell and he finally let go.

He smiled above me and I just turned away with a slight blush on my face.

"You looked so weird luce!" He commented.

I felt my blood boil and I kicked him off me, "NOT THE TIME FOR YOUR JERKY COMMENTS!" I yelled as I sat up, he rolled down the hill and hit his head on a rock.

"Ow...." I heard him groan.

I huffed and stood up with the tree supporting me before picking up the book.

"Whats with the book, luce?" Natsu said as he made his way beside me, He was still rubbing his head and I sighed.

"It's nothing, what are you doing here anyways? And where's happy?" I asked calmly as I turned to him.

He grinned at me and put his hands on his waist, "Happy's spending the week with wendy and carla, don't know why but something about 'The Future'?" He started and I looked at him in confusion.

He then smiked brightly, "I went here because I wanted to spend time with you!" He ended and I felt ny face turn from confused to embarrased.

"Idiot!" I yelled at him as I swung my arm to smack his head.

He dodged making me lose my balance, as I started fall I closed my eyes to brace for impact but I felt a hand wrap around my waist.

I looked up and saw natsu stare at me before grinning. I felt my face flush and I got out of his grip.

I waved my hands infront of me and smiled sheepishly. "Thanks! natsu, but I got to go!" I thanked before turning around and leaving quickly, "BYE!!"

As I walked with plue by my side I put my hands on my face and started blushing.

'How could he say something like that....' I thought to myself.

I sighed deeply and plue jumped into my arms.

"I'm over reacting aren't I?" I asked plue and he just kept eating his ice cream.

"Lucy! be careful!" One of the sailors yelled to me.

I waved my hand at the both of them, "Yeah, yeah, I know!" I reassured them.

I soon reached my apartment and set plue down on the floor. I made my way over to my bedroom where a blue feline is looking through my desk.

I crept up behind him and smashed my hand on the desk an inch beside him.

"And just what are you looking for....cat?" I threatened

"L-lushy..." Happy stuttered as he shook.

He turned around and I was glaring at him with a dark aura surrounding me.

"Speak." I ordered in a cold tone.

"I-I was just trying to look for fish!" He explained but I wasn't buying it.

"In my work desk?" I retaliated and he looked like he was caught.

"Aye!" He beamed sheepishly.

I felt a tick mark appear on my forehead and grabbed the nearest object, a chair.

"Why you li-" I yelled but was cut off when my chair became blazing with fire.

"ACK! MY CHAIR!" I yelled while mentally crying as my chair disintegrated into ashes.

"Natsuuuuu!!!!" Happy cried out and flew over to the culprit.

"Yo, happy!" Natsu chirped as happy flew behind his head.

Suddenly a dark aura surrounded me again and I snapped my head towards the two making them flinch.

"L-lucy! you left your book at the park so I came to return it!" Natsu explained as he sweat dropped.

"I'll give you to the count of five to leave." I mumbled as I glared at him.

Knowing natsu, he must've heard me and pulled happy towards the window quickly before jumping down.

"NEXT TIME USE THE DOOR!" I yelled.

I let out a heavy sigh and glanced at the book on my bed. I opened it and found a message on the first page.

"Hey luce! Incase you kick me out before I tell you this so I wrote it down. The team is going to take a group picture later infront of the guild. We'll be waiting for you by the entrance tomorrow at....well, erza said something about a sunset so maybe by then? Anyways, I also have something important to tell you after so please be there!

The note read, I giggled slightly as I read how natsu mispelled his name again and sighed.

'That idiot will never learn...' I thought to myself before smiling.

"How did he even get the time to write this...in perfect grammar no less." I mumbled to myself.

And thats when it hit me, Natsu wants to talk about something with me? I wonder what its about.

"Well tomorrow is the grand anniversary of our win against alvarez so why not" I shrugged before flipping through the pages of the book and my face dropped.

Natsu had drawn on the other pages like a child and some even had monkey faces of gray, I felt my blood boil and threw the book on the ground only for it to bounce back on my face.

When the book fell off my face I took a deep breath in before screaming on the top of my lungs.

"NATSUUUUUU!!" I screamed in anger.
