Chapter 16: The End of My Adventure

{Fiore: Cabin - 9:27am *Lucy*}

As I was settling in my new home with romeo's help, I saw a glimmer of light through one of the boxes.

Curious I opened the box and saw a small treasure box hiding below the pile of clothes that were inside it.

I reached out for the box and grabbed it gently before pulling it up.

'I've never seen this one before...' I thought to myself as I inspected the treasure box before shaking it up and down.

But as I was about to open it, Romeo called out for me.

"Hey Lucy-ne..." He called out and I turned to him.

He was on the other side of the room digging inside the box calmly while his back faced towards me.

"Yes, romeo?" I replied in a soft tone as I hid the treasure box behind me.

Suddenly he stopped digging through the box and sat up straight before turning to me in hesitation before sighing.

"What will you do...after you have the baby?" He questioned with worry in his tone and I raised an eyebrow.

I then put my finger under my chin and looked down on the floor in complete thought.

'I've never thought of that...' I thought to myself before looking back at romeo.

"I...Don't know." I replied bluntly as I looked back down on my stomach.

I then placed a hand over it and smiled softly.

"Will this...be the end of your adventures?" Romeo spoke in a sad tone.

I looked back at him and relaxed my gaze as the realization hit me.

'Right, I'll be a mother now...I can't go on anymore adventures...' I thought again as I balled my hands into fists.

I then looked down and glanced at my stomach, without realizing it I wrapped both my arms on my belly and smiled happily.

'Who cares about adventures...I have my new happiness right here.' I thought to myself as I looked up at romeo with tiny tears.

"I guess so." I replied painfully but happily.

Romeo was taken a back from my tears for a bit before smiling and running over to me, and before I knew it he was hugging me tightly.

Romeo stayed over for the rest of the day and even helped me set up some food for dinner. Even thoguh there were only two bedroom, Romeo insisted on sleeping on the couch.

I tried to object but he said he found the couch more comfortable than both beds in the house so I agreed in the end.

As I closed my new bedroom door behind me, I made my way to my work desk and started writing a letter...but this time it wasn't for my parents.

It was for Natsu.

As I saw romeo packing his stuff, I walked over to him with a water bottle filled with hot cocoa on my hand.

Romeo had to leave today since he really left un-prepared, He promised to come back and check up on me one week of a month.

He turned to me and smiled, "What's that for lucy-san?" Romeo spoke as he wore the big back pack on his back.

I smiled back at him happily before handing him the water bottle, "Its for you, As a thank you for what you did!" I replied happily and he politely took it.
