Chapter 3: Shattering News

After our chaotic group picture, Mira had given us all a copy and we decided to keep both pictures that were taken, and by 'we' I mean Erza.

We were now in south gate park where the party was being held and lets just say its as rowdy as ever.

I was wearing the same dress I wore when I won my first author awards and had my hair tied up in a pony tail.

As I grabbed a plate full of food, Erza and wendy made there way towards me.

I looked away from the food table and smiled at the both of them, "What's up guys?" I asked.

Wendy was wearing her usual clothes and so was erza, except she didn't wear any armor and she had a blue circle pendant.

"Lucy, I thought you were going to talk with Natsu?" Erza spoke.

I look at the both of them suspiciously as I tilted my head softly, "I never said I was meeting with natsu?" I replied as I smiled hesitantly.

Erza froze and was about to say something when wendy beat her to it.

"Natsu-san told us about it after the group picture!" Wendy explained and I sighed.

"Is that so, I guess I better go now!" I exclaimed as I left the plate of food on the food table and started walking off.

But something was weird, Its not that I don't believe them its because their tone and expressions were a bit....off.

I walked around the venue trying to find natsu and found him walking off to the forest. I followed behind him and he walked even farther. I made a large distance so that he couldn't smell my scent but kept a close eye on him.

He finally stopped in the middle of the forest and I stopped a few blocks away, Suddenly a white bird landed beside him and it transformed into Lisanna.

'I feel like juvia...' I thought to myself as I mentally sweat drop.

They were talking about something while smiling and I felt something sting inside me. After a little while They finally stopped talking and before lisanna flew off, they both hugged each other.

I felt like my body was getting punched by a million gajeels and almost felt like crying, but then natsu turned around ready to leave.

I decided to act normal and walk over to him, "Luce?" Natsu called out with a surprised tone.

I put on a regular faceade and got closer to where he was. "Hey natsu, You said you wanted to meet with me?" I explained while smiling brightly.

Natsu grinned and put his hands on his waist, "Yeah! but how did you find me?" Natsu questioned with a bit of panic on his face.

I felt my heart clench and looked at him like I always do when I'm pointing out his idiotic ways.

"Happy told me where you went and so I followed his directions." I answersd calmly in a 'duh' voice.

Natsu gave me an 'oh' expression before looking away and mumbling something, I made my way over to him and he smiled before staring at me with pity.

"Is there something wrong natsu?" I asked curiously.

He took a deep breath in, "Well lucy....." He started and I was taken back by him actually calling me by my name this time.

"You see, me and the team was talking last week and...we decided to go on a job....for a month...A week from now..." He continued while pausing between sentences and I gave him a smile.

"Okay? whats wrong with telling me about a job, After this I'll go and pack!" I exclaimed excitedly but then natsu let out a heavy sigh before mumbling something.

"Lucy. What I mean by 'We' is as in me, gray, erza, and happy...we can't bring you with us." Natsu explained and I felt my heart shatter.

"W-what? but we're a team aren't we?" I reasoned as I felt my face begin to falter.

"We know lucy, This is actually half the reason we took a group picture today... Happy had already explained everything to wendy and carla and they understood, It's just that...The job is too dangerous and..." Natsu paused.

Even thought I wanted to hear more of his explanation, I couldn't stand hearing of it anymore.

"Is that so...." I said holding my head down.

Natsu must've noticed that I was about to cry so he grabbed me gently and pulled me into a hug.

I cried into his chest and he rubbed circles on my back.

We stayed like that for I don't know how long before he let go and gave me his infamous grin, "I promise that when we get back, I'll give you anything you want." He promised.

I smiled as I wiped my eyes and punched him lightly on the arm. "You also have to repay levy for her book when you get back, okay?" I lectured and he chuckled.

"Alright..." Natsu spoke sounding defeated before smiling at me.

"But since today is our last party before you leave..." I said as I grabbed his arm and started running out the forest.

"Luce?!" Natsu yelled probably in shock.

I then looked back at him with a smiled, "Lets go enjoy every bit off it, together!" I exclaimed as we kept running.

We reached the party and everyone was still being as chaotic as ever. Thats when gray, erza, and wendy along with happy and carla made their way towards us.

"Did flame brain finally tell you?" Gray said while sweat dropping.

"Yup! And its ok guys, I just hope you come back safely" I replied and he let out a sigh.

Gray mumbled something under his breath and natsu head butted him.

"YOU WANNA GO STRIPPER?!" Natsu threatened.

"YOU'RE ON ASH FOR BRAINS!" Gray yelled back.

I sighed deeply at their argument until Erza placed an arm on my shoulder, I turned to her and smiled.

"I wish you well on your trip with these idiots." I said while sweat dropping.

"HEY WE HEARD THAT!" The two idiots said in a unison before going back to their fight.

"We promise to return lucy." Erza reassured and I grinned at her.

"And I promise to wait right here for all of you." I replied and suddenly a blue hairball crashed on my chest.

"Lushiee, I want fishhhh" Happy whinned and I rolled my eyes.

"So wendy, How'd you take the news?" I questioned the small bluenette.

She rubbed the back of her hair and smiled faintly.

"She cried for hours until mirajane gave her a juice box....for the 15th time." Carla explained.

"Carla! Don't tell her that!" Wendy whinned as she looked away embarrased before turning to me.

"Lets keep each other company, lucy-san!" Wendy said brightly.

I returned the smile, "Yeah, I'm looking forward to it!" I reply.

"ALRIGHT! LETS PARTY!" Cana yelled.

and the night went on like that.......
