As Natsu walked over to Zeref, he found the dark wizard smiling; at that moment, realization hit.
"Why did you lie?" Natsu asked, shocked that Zeref had no intention of taking over the world.
Zeref smiled, "because it was the only way to get you to actually try and kill me." Natsu stared at him unable to comment upon what he just heard. Zeref coughed and blood spilled from the corners of his mouth.
"Onii-chan!" Natsu exclaimed before he could've thought better of it.
"Don't worry, it's about time that I die, after all its already been 400 years." Zeref smiled sadly at his brother. "I just want you to know that no matter what, you will always be the little brother that I love." Natsu managed to give a small nodded, remembering the times he spent with his brother. Not realizing it himself, he had begun to tear up. "Do you like your guild?"
"Mhm, Fairy Tail is like my new family. I made many new friends there."
"I'm glad." Zeref replied, and with that said, he closes his eyes and breathes his last breath.
"Goodbye, Onii-chan," Natsu whispers, and just when he was about to walk away, a familiar voice calls out his name.
