Esmia woke up to a harsh light and opened only to be met by piercing green eyes. The moment she realised who it was she leapt up "HOLY SHIT, WHAT THE CORNELIUS FUDGE ARE YOU DOING HERE?", he merely shrugged and spoke with a bored tone "You are late and as a trainer, my responsibility is to get you up and to go so that you can become a proper asset to the agency also if you thought I would go easy on you just because you are my boss's daughter, you were wrong because I treat everyone the same." he ended with a sigh as Esmia reluctantly got up grateful she decided to wear her nightsuit last night.
After getting ready for about an hour, Esmia was good to go. She had on a cute light pink summer dress with a matching jacket and a pearl necklace. Her hair, which she had recently dyed half-blond and half-black, was in a messy ponytail. She had asked Levon if she should wear something more practical, but he reassured her that she'd get a uniform at the agency.

Levon and Esmia set off for the training centre, even though she had been here before she was fascinated by the place. The calm aura that surrounded the headquarters. And then there was the villa, where her parents lived, with two of their children, who she knew nothing about until yesterday.
As she exited the car she took in the scene in front of her, which was quite different from when she had visited the day before. Instead of an open field, there were archery targets and people were practising archery, on the other side there were people doing hand-to-hand combat and sword fighting,
"So how did you end up here?" she asked, trying to make small talk.
"I am not allowed to disclose that information," he replied in a monotonous voice. It almost felt as though a robot was speaking from inside him. After that, she refrained from further conversation. When they reached her mother's office, Levon told her to go inside as he waited outside. When asked why he wasn't coming in, he replied, "I am not allowed in."
That one line raised a series of questions in her mind about why her mother stayed so isolated.
She smiled and nodded at him as he rushed to open the door for her. With a grateful thank you, she stepped inside and was greeted by the heartwarming sight of the twins running around while her mother chased after them with a plate of food. As she watched, feeling a surge of jealousy, she saw her mother effortlessly scoop up Sapphire with one hand while setting the plate down to scoop up George with the other.
Why wasn't she like this when she wanted to be picked up, as the thought hit her mind she went into a trauma-induced flashback.
FLASHBACK
Esmia was banging on the door begging her mother to let her in, It had started to rain and she was wet head to toe. Esmia's mistake was that she got hurt and started crying while her mother was in a meeting with the board.
A very angry Esmeralda had put a lot of effort into making that meeting go as smoothly as possible and couldn't keep her cool when Esmia came to her crying about some small cut. Opposite to what a normal mother would do, she put Esmia out on the balcony in heavy rain and didn't let her in until her father came back from the office.
Her father used to work late shifts since they were his first few months as boss. After her father came at bout 6 in the morning she was let in, drenched in water. She knew her parents were stressed about the company but how could they do that?
She remembered screaming for her mother and father, trying to hide from the harsh raindrops, sliding down the door, shivering uncontrollably as the rain soaked through her clothes, her hair plastering itself to her scalp and face, tears mixed with the rain begging to be let back in. Her 12-year-old self was smart enough to get that she wasn't born with normal parents.
FLASHBACK END
She was snapped back to reality when she felt a small hand tugging on her dress. She looked down to see Sapphire looking up at her with forest-green eyes. She knelt to her height and was about to say something when Sapphire kissed her on the cheek.
"Thank you for coming here" she spoke with such adoration Esmia couldn't help but kiss her cheek as well smiling at her little sister "You're welcome Sapphy, now tell me why were you not eating food?" Esmia smiled at the sudden change in her expression. She crossed her arms and mumbled incoherently "It has peas, I don't like peas they are yucky" She showed Esmia her tongue as she spoke with visible disgust in her voice and face.
"Neither do I, but they are important for our health aren't they?" She picked the little girl up and took the plate from the table. As she set her down on the couch, She called to Goerge, who was hiding from Esmia and her mother.
He reluctantly came out from behind the flower pot and sat down next to his sister. "Okay now imagine a plane going into your mouth". Unaware of their surroundings they never noticed a pair of eyes smiling at them from a distance.
Esmeralda leaned against the frame of the kitchen door, careful not to make a sound, not wanting to disrupt the scene unfolding before her, She listened patiently as Sapphire babbled about her day at school, Gorege interrupting with stories of his own.
As she watched Esmia care for her sibling she thought to herself, her eyesight blurring at the thought.
