Zeri's POV

"We have to go back! What if Vi died from that shot? Or worse, got arrested? We need to do something!" Zeri restlessly wandered around the cafeteria of the firelight's hideout. Since they'd arrived, she hadn't rested a minute. She was too worried about what happened to Vi.

"Hey, Zeri, calm down a little", Scar invoked, trying to sound serene, but his worried expression betrayed him. This situation afflicted him just as much as all the others. "Try to focus on the positives, at least you got the goods."

Zeri scoffed in exasperation. "How could I focus on the 'positives'?! Vi is in Piltover's hands! That's even more reason for them to blackmail us and these goods won't last forever!"

Before Scar could react, the cafeteria door flew open and Ekko marched in. He looked just as tired as Zeri, the circles under his eyes getting darker everyday. "What happened? Where's Vi?", he demanded to know.

Zeri sighed. "Vi's got lost. We saw her getting shot and then lost sight of her." She looked down, not wanting to picture what was happening to her right now.

"WHAT?!" Ekko looked from Scar to Blitzcrank, then back to Zeri, before burying his face in his hands. He groaned softly. "No way. And just when we found Jinx..."

"You did what?!", Zeri suddenly yelled, surprised by this new information. Scar nodded confirmingly. "We caught her last night. She's in a cell of ours."

Zeri's jaw dropped. The firelights catching Jinx hadn't been on her bingo card, but here they were. Seriously, I am gone for what - a few hours? - and shit like this happens. Typical.

"Well, still, we need to rescue Vi. We need her. If she's been captured by the topsiders, Jinx could be useless. They could just demand her for free. We have to get her out of wherever she is right now." Zeri nodded at Blitzcrank's words. Finally someone got her point.

Ekko nodded. "I know, but I can't go. I need to guard Jinx. I know her the longest and I'm the only one who at least has a chance to secure that she's not escaping."

"I'll go", Zeri stated, already getting ready to leave. Scar made a disapproving sound.

"No, you're not." Ekko's voice was calm but firm. "You need rest. We'll send someone else."

"No!", Zeri protested, ignoring the little orange sparks that were buzzing around her. She always got these when she was upset. "I won't rest until I find her!" As Scar and Ekko both gave her critical looks, she realized she might have over-dramatized the situation a little, but she couldn't help but to feel guilty about Vi getting shot. If I hadn't provoked those enforcers-

"And besides", she hastily added, trying to make a useful point. "Blitz and me are the only ones who knew where she fell off after getting shot. We should be the ones to go, right Blitz?"

Blitzcrank nodded. "I agree. We were her quest partners, so we will get her back."

Ekko raised an eyebrow, studying the two for a moment, before clapping his hands together. "Well, if you insist. But it's not my responsibility if you get hurt or anything."

"No one said that", Zeri muttered. Ekko was taking his job as the firelight leader way to serious. "We're not children anymore, so don't worry, we'll be fine."

"Oh, and Scar", she called over her shoulder before leaving the cafeteria. "I'm going to lend your hoverboard. I broke mine again."
