as the teenagers hangout came to a close everyone hugged goodbye to their friends. promises were made to keep intouch and call as much as possible, it was only hopeful those promises would be kept.

the sully's got home and as Lo'ak was going to his and Neteyams shared room the older brother heard a noise in Lo'ak's pocket. "what was that?" "what was what?" Lo'ak asked trying to be as innocent as he could, knowing he was caught. "the rustle in your pocket" Neteyam pushed further. "quit being so annoying bro" Lo'ak replied back angrily "your always up my ass and paranoid" he made another comment before retreating upstairs, that comment hurt, was Neteyam really too paranoid? he tried to shrug it off as Lo'ak not appreciating his help but it stayed in the back of his mind, all his little comments like that did.

it was the last night in their house in boston, it hadn't hit that it was really the last night though. Neytiri had cooked steak stew for dinner that night, Lo'ak's favourite.
"dad i don't undertand why we can go in august so we can spend the summer here" Lo'ak said all of the sudden, Neteyam internally face palmed. "it's because i got a promotion at work, do you want me to go jobless?" jake replied with an unsolicited snare in his voice, the stress of finding a house, furniture, a high school and elementary for the kids and an assortment of other things were weighing on jake. he hated being seen as "weak" so he masked it with what he thought was strength but really anger, something his sons were quick to pick up from him.

that night, when Neteyam was laying in bed scrolling on his phone he saw a figure in his doorway. "come in Tuk" he knew it was her, because it was always her in his doorway at night, he was her older brother after all. "what's on your mind" he asked as she sat on the side of his bed, he got up to sit next to her. "what if i can't make new friends in the new place?" she asked, truth be told he didn't didn't have an answer for her, and truth be told his mind was stuck on that about himself. Neteyam was never an outgoing kind of person, he liked to stay to himself and it was always either him falling into his siblings friend groups or someone else reaching to him to be friends first. it wasn't a trait he particularly liked about himself and he tried changing it but he could never say the right thing. after his breif thought session he replied to his sisters wondering face "i'm sure you will Tuk, who wouldn't want to be your friend? those hawaiian kids will be jumping at the chance" he chose the most confidence giving words he could, sure the statement the kids would be jumping to be her friend wasn't completely true, he had heard some of those kids where they were moving to were posh and didnt think kindly to new kids, but again it was just what he had heard.
the young girl was satisfied with this answer, she showed it by getting up and sleepily walking to his door and out. "goodnight Tuk" Neteyam called after her, he heard a faint goodnight from the end of the hall and chuckled to himself. he looked over across the room to his brothers bed. sound asleep.
