the two walk side by side while fiona
blackburn stays a few feet behind them as
a chaperone.

the marquess nods, "it very much is, colette."

"i am glad you asked me to this promenade, i haven't gotten to see my
favorite places since my return from
scotland"

"what are your favorite places?" percy asks. "besides balls and such."

colette stifles a laugh, "i don't enjoy balls
as much as you believe, my lord."

percy furrows his brows, "no?"

the blackburn shakes her head.

"well, you certainly seem most at peace in your home and balls from what i've noticed. you seemed quite uneasy at the derby race yesterday."

"oh no, that was just anth—i mean eloise and i were meant to spend the day together."
colette says, hoping he didn't catch her slip up. "she left so abruptly."

marquess kane nods, "do you get along well with the rest of the bridgerton family?"

"mainly eloise, daphne as well, she's an older sister to me." colette smiles at the thought of the duchess, who she hopes to see
very soon.

"my younger siblings get along with the youngest two bridgertons as well. our
mothers are also well acquainted."

"yes, the two families seemed tight knit at
the derby." percy says, having made that observation. "what of anthony?"

colette tries not to scoff, "what of the
viscount?"

"well, i did not say anything, not wanting to be rude." the marquess begins. "it was rather odd that he chose to sit with us over
his family."

"i agree, perhaps he was interested in being well acquainted with you?" colette suggests.

percy shakes his head, "he was one of the eligible bachelors who made it known when you were announced diamond. perhaps it is
you he wishes to be well acquainted with."

"that is truly ridiculous." colette laughs.
"yes, the viscount has shown interest but he
isn't what i hope to find in a husband."
