Cliffhanger warning ⚠️
(Royal au part 3)

Genya and Muichiro danced together elegantly with their gorgeous suits and jeweled mask. They held each other's hands and danced gracefully and beautifully to the music and rhythm. As the night drew to a close and the last notes of the symphony faded into silence, Prince Genya and Muichiro shared a final, lingering glance. Their moment of unity, shrouded in secrecy and masked identities, had come to an end. They bowed to each other, the applause of the crowd echoing in their ears.

However, the sharp gaze of the royal family had not missed the peculiar chemistry between the two princes. Whispers spread like wildfire through the court, and suspicion brewed among the nobles. Unbeknownst to Genya and Muichiro, the royal guard had been dispatched to investigate the mysterious prince who had captured Genya's attention.

Later that evening, in a secluded corridor of the palace, Genya and Muichiro met in secret. The dim candlelight cast long shadows on the walls, adding an air of foreboding to their clandestine meeting.

"Muichiro," Genya said, his voice soft yet urgent, "we need to be careful. People are starting to notice."

Muichiro nodded, his eyes filled with worry. "I know, Genya. But what we have is real. I don't want to lose it."

Their moment was interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps. The door to the corridor burst open, revealing the Captain of the Guard and several soldiers. The captain's eyes narrowed as he pointed an accusatory finger at Muichiro.

"There he is! Arrest that imposter!"

Genya stepped in front of Muichiro, his expression fierce. "What is the meaning of this?"

The captain, unfazed, replied, "Prince Genya, this man is no prince. He is a servant, disguised and deceiving everyone. By order of the King, he is to be arrested for his treachery."

Muichiro's face paled as the guards moved forward. Genya tried to protest, but the soldiers forcibly separated them. As Muichiro was dragged away, he locked eyes with Genya, a silent plea for forgiveness and a promise of love in his gaze.

"Muichiro!" Genya shouted, his voice echoing through the corridor. But it was too late. The guards had taken Muichiro, and the cold, unyielding doors of the palace slammed shut behind them.

Genya stood alone in the dim light, his heart pounding with fear and anger. The royal family's discovery had torn them apart, and the future seemed bleak. Yet, as he clenched his fists, determination blazed in his eyes. This was not the end. He would find a way to free Muichiro, no matter the cost.

As the days passed, Genya's desperation grew. He tried to plead with his parents, the King and Queen, but they were unmoved. "Your duty is to the throne, Genya," his father had said sternly. "You cannot fraternize with a servant, let alone someone who has deceived us all."

Undeterred, Genya sought allies within the palace. He enlisted the help of Yuichiro, Muichiro's older twin brother, who had always been a loyal and resourceful friend. Together, they devised a plan to free Muichiro from his cell in the dungeons.

On a moonless night, Genya and Yuichiro made their move. They navigated the labyrinthine passages of the palace, avoiding the guards who patrolled the corridors. The air was thick with tension, every shadow a potential threat.

When they reached the dungeon, Genya's heart raced. Yuichiro whispered, "Stay calm, Your Highness. We will get him out."

They found Muichiro in a dark, damp cell, his wrists bound by heavy chains. His eyes lit up with a mixture of hope and disbelief when he saw Genya and Yuichiro. "You came," he whispered, his voice hoarse.

"I promised, didn't I?" Genya replied, working quickly to unlock the chains. "We don't have much time."

Just as Muichiro's restraints fell away, the sound of approaching footsteps echoed through the dungeon. Yuichiro turned pale. "Someone's coming. We need to hurry."

The three of them moved swiftly, but as they reached the exit, they were confronted by the Captain of the Guard, flanked by several soldiers. The captain's eyes were cold, and he smirked as he drew his sword. "Did you really think you could escape so easily?"

Genya stepped forward, placing himself protectively in front of Muichiro. "I will not let you take him again."

The captain sneered. "You have no choice, Your Highness. Orders are orders."

As the guards closed in, a fierce determination surged within Genya. He glanced at Yuichiro, who nodded subtly. They had one last gambit to play.

"Run, Muichiro!" Genya shouted, pushing him towards the hidden passage they had discovered earlier. "I'll hold them off!" he pulls out his gun from his pockets.

Muichiro hesitated, his eyes filled with anguish. "I can't leave you."

"Go!" Genya insisted. "I'll find you. I promise."

With a reluctant nod, Muichiro fled into the darkness, his heart heavy with the knowledge that he was leaving Genya behind. The guards ran towards Genya, and the sound of fighting fills the dungeons.

Genya was trying to shoot them, as they try to stop Genya with their swords.

Yuichiro stood his ground beside Genya, fighting valiantly. But as they parried blows from the guards, the captain lunged at Yuichiro, who barely deflected the strike. "Genya, go!" Yuichiro shouted. "You have to survive!"

In the midst of the chaos, Genya fought with a resolve unbroken. But as he parried another blow, a sharp pain lanced through his side. He staggered, but his eyes blazed with defiance.

Meanwhile, Muichiro ran through the secret passage, the echoes of battle haunting his steps. His mind raced with fear and hope, a desperate prayer on his lips that Genya would survive.

Just as he reached the end of the passage, he heard a chilling cry echo through the darkness. "Muichiro!" It was Genya's voice, filled with pain and urgency.

Muichiro froze, torn between escape and the desire to return. But before he could decide, the ground beneath him fell apart, and he collapsed into an abyss, his world consumed by darkness.

As he tumbled into the unknown, one thought echoed in his mind: *I will come back for you, Genya. I swear.*

And in the depths of the dungeon, as Genya's vision blurred, he clung to one hope: *We will be together again.*

The night was far from over, and the fate of the prince and the disguised servant hung in the balance, a cliffhanger that promised turmoil, defiance, and a love that refused to be extinguished.
