As the morning sun shines through our transparent curtain, the room was filled with natural light.
I woke up to the sound of my phone vibrating on the bedstand. My family were video calling. Of course, i expected that much from them cause this actually the first time spending the night away from my family house. Actually, the first time i left our small town.
Sliding the white to the side, connection was made.
"Good morning mom, morning sis,
"Morning Tasha, how was your first night in college? mom asked.
With a smile on my face while rubbing my eye half awake, i responded." i feel so good mom, actually i think this the best night so far since i turned 18", i replied.
"I felt like that too on my first night in college, my sister shouted while struggling to squeeze her face in front of the camera.
" Dear, this marks the beginning of your youthful age and i hope you wont be mislead by peers pressure and college lifestyle.
"Like seriously mom is that really meant for an introvert like me, i shouted while trying to laugh out the topic.
I have already decided that this new environment will be a turnaround in my social life but not in a bad way though . So hearing those words from my mom makes me feel like am trying to make the wrong decision but... Hell No!!, i must top up my friends list which is one of the things in my college bucket list.
" what about your roommate, Olive asked".
" i bet she's already downstairs getting breakfast cause i didn't see her when i woked up, i replied.
"We would have love to greet her but that will be another time.
" No problem, will extended your greetings to her".
"What about Dad i asked, is he still sleeping?
" sis have you forgotten so soon that Dad leaves for work very early in the morning, she said while mocking me with a funny face.
"Ohhh! this shows i have settled in well here, i laughed.
"Ladies, i think we have to call it a day here cause its already 7am and our orientation will be starting off by 10am.
" Alright dear, they both responded and wished me well.
Ending the call from there side, i dropped my phone and quickly rushed to the bathroom to prepare for the long awaiting day.
As i came out of the bathroom. My phone screen lit up with a massage from Jennie," Breakfast in 9" .
I rubbed the water from my eyes and replied with a quick "Sure."
