It's been about another two weeks, and as I've tried to make plans to get out of my situation, I just find myself in a deeper pit. Aunt Maggie has me as her personal maid, doing all sorts of chores, and Daisy has been messing with me in all sorts of ways at work.
Today was a terrible day because of what I had to do. After having to do a bunch of chores in my maid outfit that Aunt Maggie wanted me to do, I had work to go to.
Upon my arrival at the restaurant, I sat in my car, thinking about what would await me today. Knowing it probably wasn't going to be great, I just accepted my fate and decided to head inside.
When I went inside and started my shift, everything seemed to be normal. I just wanted one shift without Daisy telling me what to do.
As the day went on, I was serving the tables when a cute and muscular-looking guy walked in and sat down. As I served him, he was being really polite to me, which is unusual as most guys in here usually tell me sexual jokes and make fun of me.
Later that day, after the guy left, I went to his table to collect his receipt and tip. Once I reached the table, I noticed the receipt had a number on it. "He was a nice guy, but there's no way I'm dating a guy, "I thought. As I went to toss the phone number in the trash, Daisy saw the note for a second and stopped me.
"Who's number is this?" Said Daisy. Then she followed up by wanting me to explain the situation. Once I did, she got really excited with a grin on her face. "If you want to keep working here, you have to text him," Daisy said. Knowing she was going to say something like that, I sighed and pulled out my phone. I just decided I would do it, as all I had to do was talk to him. I typed in his number and just put "hi" and then sent it, showing Daisy.
I then put my phone up and walked away, getting back to work. My shift didn't last much longer, and soon after it ended, I checked my phone.
To my surprise, I pull out my phone to see a response saying, "Hey, my name is Cameron; what's yours?" I then decided to respond, saying "Lucy," as Daisy told me I needed to keep texting him. I then got in my car and drove back home.
Getting back home, I decided to go to my room, not seeing Aunt Maggie anywhere. Bored, I decided to keep texting Cameron, as maybe I could just friend zone him and we could be good friends down the line instead. After about an hour of texting, it was around dinner time, so I figured Aunt Maggie should be back now and making dinner.
When I entered the kitchen, I saw her making some spaghetti. I joined her and helped her finish cooking the spaghetti, and then we sat down to eat. As I ate, I left my phone sitting face-up on the table. While me and Maggie were eating, my phone went off with a ding. Aunt Maggie, with some curiosity, looks over at my phone before I pick it up.
"Who's Cameron, and why does he want to go on a date with you?" She said this as she was clearly reading the text he sent. I tried to assure her it was just a friend, but it was too late, and I knew I just stepped into a losing battle.
