"Hello?"

"Why'd you call me?" He spoke in a cold, dead tone.

"We need to talk..." I quickly stepped out into the hall again so Kiran didn't get disturbed.

"Talk."

Dickhead

"Bro, what are you doing with Kiran? She's your fiancé, you have to trust her, she's telling you the truth. I didn't gift her any of that shit—the only thing I got her was breakfast and some chocolates that one day. I paid with MY card for just those two things and that was it. I promise you, I didn't get her anything else."

"You really expect me to believe that heap of bullshit? She had your dog tags in her bag. Not only that, I've caught you two multiple times all over each other. How do you think I feel having to see my so called fiancé and best friend getting comfortable with each other?"

"It's not like that Roman. She's one of my best friends and I know sometimes she gets a little friendly but there's no ill intentions, I can assure you. Just please, give her a chance, talk to her..."

"Nah, I don't buy that shit. And besides, I've already told her what she needs to do to get that second chance with me. It's up to her if she wants to make the moves."

"What do you mean? What did you tell her?" I was confused. Kiran hadn't told me anything.

"Oh she didn't tell you? Of course she wouldn't...looks like she's already made her pick then. Anyway, I have to go. She knows what to do."

"Ro—Fuck!"

He swiftly hung up. I went back into our room and sat on my bed facing Kiran. My mind was curiously swirling at what he could have possibly told her and why she hadn't jumped on it if it meant her getting Roman back.

>>> The next morning

My phone pinged an email notification which woke me up. Hunter had forwarded results of my drug test. My hands were shaking trying to hold the phone still to read the report of several drug panels that were tested for.

Overall Verified Result: **Negative**

"How the fuck is this negative?" I scanned over the report several times, making sure this was my report. Every panel resulted as negative.

I took my phone over to Kiran who was still asleep.

"Kiran!... Can you check this for me?? Is this right?" I shook her shoulder.

"What is it Dean?" She squinted her eyes, barely awake.

"My drug test report...it's showing as negative and I'm freaking out here because I was high as fuck the day before.

Kiran grabbed my phone and brought it close to her face with one eye open and studied it for a minute before handing it back.

"It's negative. You're good." She replied before turning over and pulling the covers on her again.

Relief washed over me but at the same time it wasn't making any sense. Obviously I wasn't going to question it in front of anyone. If my title shot was secured, it was good enough for me.

[KIRAN POV]

It was extremely difficult to try separating myself from Dean without hurting him. Dean was not one to wear his heart on his sleeve and would brush things off without a care in the world. But the way I've known him, he was certainly getting bothered by how I was acting with him last night. There was no easy way to cut him off so I just kept to myself as much as possible and hoped he would get the point.
