Just a Simple Tour
Chapter 4

Eliza's pov,
"So how did you find out about my tour?" I say walking with him by my side. I looked around seeing some beautiful architecture and landscape around the campus. I averted my eyes and looked back a Miguel to wait for his response.

"I heard word going around in the office yesterday before you came. I was curious to see who my roommate was."

I hummed in response but get as though there was more too it. Like someone else was involved with his curiosity. But at last, though it was kinda my business I won't dwell on it.

"You okay Goldie?" He said nudging me, taking me out of my thoughts

"Yeah. I'm fine"

We came to a glass door where Miguel opened it and gestured for me to go in first.

I low key feel bad for him, his girlfriend seems like a brat but he's a real gentleman. Though I don't know what it's like to be with him on that level I could tell he does everything in his power to make you happy. I appreciate him for that. I hope his girlfriend does too.

"Alright so this is basically where you chill. Read a book, study, do computer work. Ms. Lacy would normally be up there by that pink bookshelf. She's nice so she's approachable" he said shrugging after that

I smiled and nodded. "This place just might be my favorite, and i haven't even seen the rest yet"

"Oh I'm sure it is. It's everyone's favorite."

"Aren't you a freshman yourself?"

"Well yes, but i came earlier before you Goldie. So I know a few things or two" he said giving me playfully sass.

I shoved him "don't be so cocky"

"Oh I wouldn't dare!" He said sarcastically putting his hand over his heart.

I rolled my eyes as we walked further inside the place.

We saw more kids on their phones or reading the books. I scanned it looking at 2 people who had their eyes on me for some reason. I frowned my eyes until Miguel called for me.

"Goldie look! There's a place for us to sit" he pointed

I looked away and headed in Miguel's direction. I wonder what those 2 people were looking at me for, and why.

He patted a seat next to me and smiled.

"I'll go grab a lap top and we discuss some things further about the campus alright?" He says getting up again

I only nodded, having too many things run my mind and trying to adjust to the new atmosphere. It's like the universe never wants me in my thoughts though since my phone started to ring.

I quickly picked it up and brought my phone to my ear.

"Hello?" I responded

"El...why do you have your phone to your ear?? It's a FaceTime call" Eleanor giggled from the other side

I made an 'o' shape with my mouth and slightly chuckled my self.

"I'm sorry bestie, so much is going on with this new campus!" I say setting up my phone with a couple books that were laying on the table.

I smiled into the camera and put up a piece sign as if I was taking a picture.

"How's eve?" I asked resting my head on my hand.

"She's great to say the least. Just missing her other half" she said frowning a little.

"Yeah same over here too. But if I could do I'll my work and find connections fast enough, I'll be out this prison cell in no time to come hang out with you again"

She smiled. "Of course el. Just...promise me this"

"Yeah?..."

"Don't forget about me, okay?"

"Eve. You know I would never-"

"El. I'm serious" she said cutting my off

"You're literally like the only friend I've had that stayed with me through it all. I'd hate to see it go away"

I just look at her, and gave a smile.

"Okay" i said

"Yeah and we can-" Her voice got cut short when Miguel happily sped walked his way towards me again with 2 large hard cover books and one lap top.

My jaw dropped at how effortless he carried all of it. All with a smile again.

"Here you go Goldie, we must do our research traditionally and technically." He said giving me the lap top and placing the books in front of us.

I chuckled as I heard the phone again.

"Hey el, I didn't know you had a boyfriend" she said squinting her eyes as she leaned in the camera

My cheeks heated up and my eyes widened as i immediately denied.

"No no no this is Miguel, my roommate. He uh. He has a girlfriend already" i say panning the camera carefully towards him as he smiled and waved

"Oh, well okay. Just talk to me later okay?" She said sounding a little down.

"Uh yeah sure. Is everything-"

Before I could finish my sentence she had hung up.

"Oh-Kay...." I say under my breath confused and worried.

"Is everything okay Goldie?" Miguel said looking at me

I blinked and shook my head, taking my phone of the books and turning it off.

"Yeah everything's fine. Let uh, just do or research, traditionally"

"Anddddd technically" he said waving his finger as if he was making me remember something.

I laughed and he joined.

Too many things, for just a simple tour.
