Eliza's pov,
"Girl what are you doing?" A boy said with his hand on his hip.

A confused looked appeared on my face as both of them sighed.

"I meeeean what are you doing sneaking around with delancy's man??? What chu being messy for?" He laughed

"Messy...I'm not dating Miguel if that's what ur implying" I said shaking my head

"Well that's what it looks like."

"Yeah your limping miss girl. Please don't tell me he blew your back out before your first day" the girl replied

"Wait what. I never had sex with Miguel. What are y'all talking about?"

"So you haven't heard?" The boy said

I shook my head, started to breath heavy.

The two looked at each other and began to burst out laughing. Making me all the more confused.

"Baby, they spreading lies upon lies about you up in that clique!"

"What lies?"

"They saying you fucking Miguel and some other people"

"Mhm and they are not happpyy" the girl added on in a teasing manner

"Your little back problem ain't helping either. Whatever happened between you and Miguel after Delancy left is tellinggggg" the boy joked

"Oh Delancy? She was yelling at Miguel this morning, excusing him of cheating on her with me. She yelled and pushed me really hard on the ground, which earned me a bruise on my back probably" i say looking behind me with a pout

"Really?" The boy replied

"Well, yeah" I shrugged

"Girl you're boring. I thought you dead ass fucked him"

The girl beside him hit his shoulder and gave him a glare

"Stop instigating. They spreading rumors on this poor girl and we gotta help her!" She said

The boy rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.

"Hey I'm max by the way" she said said holding her hand out for me to shake

I shook it and awkwardly smiled.

"And this is Jordan" she pointed at him

"Hey girl. We your lord and saviors" he joked

"Can you never take anything serious" Maxine said, earning a smile from me.

"Girl you know how I am" he said with attitude laced throughout his voice.

"That's okay. This situation seems childish anyways. I'm sure it'll die down. That girl was bad towards him anyway, she live" i said

"I know that's right" Jordan said patting my shoulder

"Yeah and we gonna help you now. Call us your besties okay?"

"Of course" I smiled

Just then a knock on the door took us out of our conversation as max opened it up.

Jordan made an 'oop' sound as max gasped lightly. My eyes widened whilst clutching my lap top tightly.

"Hey I didn't mean to disturb you guys. I was just looking for Eliza" Miguel said awkwardly

"Here she is. Go get ya man's! Eli" Jordan said shoving me closer to Miguel

I stayed silent as i pressed my lips together watching max and Jordan leave, giving me a thumbs up.

"I see you made new friends" Miguel said looking back at them then at me

"Uh yeah. I kinda did lol"

"And uhm. Sorry about earlier. I just got caught up in something" he said maintaining eye contact

It made me wanna do more than just look at him. But he's like a bear trap waiting to be stepped on or touched. So I bit my lip instead.

"Mhm it's fine. I don't have a class right now so imma go to the cafe" i said starting to walk

"Sure. You know I'm coming with you" he said smirking

I chuckled. "Of course"
