Raelynn's entire body was so sore.. that she promised herself that she would never ride in Thomas Shelby's car again. However, that promise would have to wait, because they were still on their way to Birmingham. The two siblings had been removed from the orphanage only a half hour prior. But, the stressful situation caused tension in the girls entire being, which made her arms, neck, and shoulders ache.

It would take nearly another hour until they reached their destination. Every bump and turn added even more unease to the girls mind. She just couldn't grow comfortable in the vehicle, and it didn't help that she was sat upfront with her father.

And to make things worse, Raelynn was almost 100% sure that if she relaxed at all, she would end up touching her father.. because of their close proximity. That was something that she would not let happen. She hated when anyone besides Dorian touched her. Early in life, she had discovered that most physical contact.. from men, was never for innocent reasons.

All men but Alfie. He had never asked for anything in return. After talking them in and providing food and.. even love, he hadn't demanded anything. He was the only one...

Raelynn and Thomas where sat upfront, and Dorian was in the back with the two other Shelbys. Soon after the trip had started, Raelynn quickly found out that one man was named John, while the other was named Arthur. She also realized that they were her father's brothers, after Arthur made a comment, to John, about how he was going to be the 'fun uncle'.

As much as Raelynn was relieved that they hadn't tried to make conversation with her, she did hope that there were going to be actual introductions if they had to meet any other family. Because, if Raelynn was like any other clueless young girl, she wouldn't be able to understand who is who. It would also get tiring having to eavesdrop on conversations, until the dots connected, and she could pin a name to a face.

Behind her, Dorian's laugh broke through her bored thoughts. From the second they started on the road, her brother had been making jokes and chatting with the two Shelby brothers. This was a stark contrast to the front seat, however. Because, Thomas and Raelynn hadn't spoken to each other the entire time. Thomas Shelby had contributed to the others conversation, where Raelynn hadn't spoken a word to anyone. All she had said, was a short phrase in Russian to Dorian at certain points. Whenever he would get too excited and almost share too much information, she would whisper Тихий. (Quiet)

Even then, the girl hadn't taken her eyes off the road in front of her. Which, probably came in handy, when she was the first to notice that a car was stopped a couple hundred feet in front of them.

As they got closer and closer to the parked vehicle, it became more apparent apparent that there were a few men around it. When they had almost reached the car, the five men stood that  next to it, slowly blocked the remaining part of the road. This forced Thomas to stop the car, as he now couldn't drive without running one of them over.

Raelynn watched the five men's body language, and could tell they were on guard. In a few seconds, she was able to understand that they were probably there to intercept them. Which meant that either they had a vendetta against her father, her, or they wanted to rob them. Either way, they were soon going to find out..

All three Shelby men started reaching for their guns, which Raelynn had, upon meeting them, already noticed were there. She was about to take Dorian and run for cover, before she noticed a tattoo on one of the men in front of them. Figuring there was a better way out of this situation, the girl quickly put her hand over her father's, which held tightly on one of his guns.

With a scoff and roll of her eyes, Raelynn pushed the gun back into her father's coat, "You big headed men and you'r uncanny ability to waste gunpowder.."
