I pulled back the curtain in front of our cell door with one hand, and held a bowl of dry cereal for Maggie with the other. "Maggie I got you some-" I suddenly stopped, mid sentence when I noticed the room was empty. "Maggie?" Quickly, I examined the room nervously, a bit scared that something had happened. I quickly snapped that thought out of my head considering that if something had happened, somebody would've seen.
"Has anyone seen Maggie?!" I asked from the hallway.
"I think I saw her walk down to the bathrooms," One of the new people informed me.
I nodded. "Thank you." Then, I entered our cell to notice that Maggie's towel was gone but her clothes were still neatly folded on the small dresser by the bed. A grin spread across my face at the fact that she forgot her clothes...again. I took her clothes in my hands and began to make my way down to the bathrooms. Luckily, the shower room was empty except for one stall. "Maggs?"
"In here!" I followed her voice and slowly pulled back the curtain. She was sitting on the small bench in the shower wrapped in her towel. I held out her clothes with a smirk and she took them. "You saved me again. There's no way that I would go back to our cell just wrapped in a towel."
"Why were you even taking a shower?" I asked as she started to pull on her underwear and shirt. "I thought you wanted to sleep?" While trying to pull on her jeans, her foot got caught inside the thick fabric, making Maggie trip and almost fall until I caught her arm, pulling her back up.
"Thank you," Maggie said and I snaked my arm around her waist, closing the space between us. "Here's your reward." Her lips were on mine in less than a second and they stayed connected. I went to pick Maggie up from under her legs but she pulled away. "No no mister, it'll have to wait until tonight."
"Why?"
"I'm about to leave to go on a run with Daryl and Michonne," she said with a bit of nervousness in her voice.
I was a bit mad that nobody told me but contained myself. "When did you agree to that?" Maggie looked down at the ground and dragged her toe around in a small puddle of water at her feet that was from the shower. "Maggie."
"When you left the cell this morning. Michonne came in and asked if I wanted to go," she said and finally looked up at me, her lips pressed together in a straight line. I sighed and ran my fingers the through my greasy hair.
"I'm gonna go too," I go ably decided and started to walk back to our cell.
"Glenn, it's fine! I can go on a run without you. Nothing's gonna happen to me," she replied and grabbed onto my hands to spin me around so that I was looking at her. "Besides, you have watch and fence duty today, I had nothing planned." I backed up and sat down on one of the wooden benches that were lined up down the middle of the room. Maggie stepped forwards so we were close together and laced our fingers together. "If you want me to wear the riot gear vest I will."
I sighed and dropped my head down to look at the floor. "It's not really that. I know that you can handle yourself out there, but I can barely handle myself in here while you're gone," I said and one side of her lips curled up into a side smile. "I miss you too much when you are gone. The bed feels so empty without you. That's why I always want to go with you, so I don't have to be alone."
This time, she let go of my hands and say down on my lap, facing me with a grin on her face. "Well first of all, I will be back tonight before you go to bed, and second, I love you so damn much." Maggie's arms wrapped around my neck and she kissed me passionately. Her hips rocked against mine and when I tried to go farther, she pulled away with a smirk. "Nope, save it for tonight mister, just like I said earlier. I'll meet you in the guard tower tonight after I get back from the run for one of our special nights."
With that, she got up off my lap and hurried her way out the shower door, giving me a wink before disappearing into the cell block hallway.
