Elijahs POV
I watched my family interact with the Mystic Falls Scooby Gang. They seemed so different, so much more relaxed than I have seen them in centuries. Rebekah seemed to be on the road to happiness with Stefan beginning to return her affection and Bonnie didn't seem at all indifferent to Kol. And well, as for Niklaus and Caroline...... They are the couple that everyone but that hybrid pup knows are endgame.
Seeing my siblings this happy makes me nostalgic and often I think back to the only time I have ever felt real, passionate and pure love for someone. The only time I ever loved someone other than the familial love I feel towards my siblings.
But I knew that no matter what, Niklaus would not allow for my love and I to be together. This made my longing for her increase and the ache I felt without her was particularly staggering in the presence of her doppelganger.
But for Rebekah, I got along with Elena and Niklaus and hid my anguish behind my usual calm facade.
'Beep, beep'. I was pulled from my musings the the arrival of a text message to my phone. I glanced at the sender and couldn't help the smile that spread itself across my face.
'Missing me yet? Kat xx'
I chuckled to myself at how brazon she was. She knew I was with my family today and she knew what would happen to her should Niklaus find out that I knew of her whereabouts .
She never did play it safe my Katerina. Even when she was a human. It was one of the things I had always found so invigorating about her.
We knew that Niklaus was still vengeful towards Katerina so we often met up abroad, in secret, whenever I knew that Niklaus was distracted and wouldn't find my absence suspicious.
But recently these visits had been few and far between due to the positive impact Caroline was having on Niklaus that made him more attentive to his family. He always seemed to want to know of our whereabouts of late, making it had for me to meet up with my Katerina.
"ELIJAH!!! HHEELlLLOOO?"
Revelation yelled at me breaking me out of my trance. I couldn't help but smile as I saw Stefan standing very close behind her grinning sheepishly at me over her shoulder.
He really would make a good spouse for my sister. Most men would run from her incessant yelling habits.
"Yes, Sister dearest?" I said smiling fondly at her.
" Go get Nik and Kol. They're in Niks room I think. Meet us in the sitting room." And with that she sashayed out of the room pulling Stefan with her as she went off to round up the others.
I took a deep breath and went off to find my brothers. Why they were together was beyond me. Although I knew whatever they were scheming to do would probably end with tears or a dagger in someone's heart.
