Ever had an undead wedding? Me either

Ever had an undead wedding? Me either. I was getting fitted for a white corseted dress with butterfly lace in between the holes that plagued the nicely fitted gown. The sleeves were breathable while cleavage was the star overall with my hair pinned into a flower crown with forget me nots. One of the rotting spirits laces up the back more, having me gasp for air while the other flicks off a maggot off a lipstick she dug out her pocket. In the other room Nolan was getting put in his tux after having our measurements done after the eyeball drinks at the bar last night.

"Oh this is so exciting!" The older rotting woman who is making the food for the wedding says walking by with a pot.

Everyone calls her Wanda since her death involved a wand of some sort.

"Here's your bouquet deary," Another woman says with her ribs burst open and her hands shredded only seeing frail bone.

I take hold of it and they smile with delight and walk me outside but have me wait as Nolan is being walked out too.

"Your one lucky ghoul," A man with a top hat says, bowing his head to Nolan.

Nolan fixes the forget me not in his square pocket of his tux and then sees me being lost for words.

"Oh! This is bad luck! You were supposed to keep him facing forward before we went to the church!"

Wanda says holding the wedding food and her helpers with the enormous wedding cake.

"It'll work out fine! Stop yapping and start walking! The food is going to get mushy with all the rat tails you put in there!"

The other woman says while adjusting her flowy gown that reaches her ankle but shows her boney structure and white fluorescent eyes with no color in her irises.

"I can't believe I'm having a dead wedding," I mumble to myself now having Nolan beside me holding my hand.

"You can always call it off, love. I won't be mad."

I shook my head, "No, no let's just get it done."

Nolan kisses my forehead and boney hands rush us to the altar inside a church that only dead people could enter.

A dead priest stands there with one cup on the altar table, a candle and a bottle of whatever would enter that one cup.

"Are we ready?" He asks then coughs, having his head open a little as its cracked from his cranium.

Nolan nods while I slowly do too, having us look to each other face to face.

"Do you both have vows to share amongst each other?"

I shook my head no but Nolan nodded while looking into my eyes.

"With this heart...it will never stop longing for you..." Grabbing hold of my hand more he continues, "With these hands I will carry and lift your worries. For this cup," He takes the cup and bottle that's there, "It will never empty...for I will be your life," Pouring the liquid in the cup he hands it to me as I had to repeat his vows back to him then place the cup to my lips to drink.

Nolan is about to take the cup back having second thoughts but I gulped it down before he could and my chest wrenched in pain as my soul is now belonging to the other side and not my human body.

"You may kiss the bride," The priest says raising his skeleton hands to the both of us.

Nolan lifts the small spider web veil in front of my face and kisses my lips having every soul, undead rotting spirit cheer.

Forget me nots were thrown at us happily as we walked down the aisle hand to hand leaving for the reception where we have to cut the cake.

As we were making our way there, Gerald, Linus and some other person were there not giving insight to where Rowen might be.

"How are you here? You would have to be dead–" I looked at them and they shook their heads, "We aren't dead, we just had some help to be able to be here for a bit." Linus looks at the bloody red jewel ring now on my ring finger as Nolan made it appear as soon as we walked out the dead church.

"Would you be upset if I told you who I was before all of this? You not really being a Relish and just hating you for a while just because you held old memories I could never make you understand involving me?"

Linus says while walking up but Nolan gets in front of me, "So you are scum of the earth that tried to play the good guy. Could have fooled me."

Cutting his eyes at Nolan, Linus looks to me more, "That night at the bar was real. Me going to you drunk was real. My feelings for you are real."

Already wedded, I shook my head, "I made my choice and there's no going back. I belong to the dead now. No curse can take me. Rowen can't take me."

Linus tries to get closer but Gerald now stops him placing a hand on his shoulder, "We can't bring her back if this is where she chooses to be," Not going backwards, Linus pushes Gerald's hand off him," Devlin, listen to me, we can reverse it. You don't have to stay with him. You don't have to be dead." I looked down in the dress I'm in, the ring on my hand, the vows just spoken, there was no reversing anything.

"I made my bed...now I have to lie in it."

Nolan looks back at me holding my hand as I hold it back closing my eyes as I heard Gerald drag Linus away while the other person that was with them started to speak.

"Lin, oh how grown you've gotten...how foolish too."

Nolan squints his eyes knowing the voice just not the face, "You finally took a human form?" He asks them while tilting his head.

The person bows their head, "Oh how arrogant you both have become...if fate was a part of you two, then Linus is as well. Why do you think I orchestrated this all no thanks to Rowen's devious plans."

Nolan was going to say something until the person made them stop just by placing their finger on their lips.

"Due time...due time it will all fall into place, for now, enjoy the little eternity with each other that you have granted yourselves."

The person leaves while Nolan looks at me just as baffled as I was.
