Twirling her wand lazily, Vesper was bored as she sat in Transfiguration hearing Professor McGonagall go on and on about how important N.E.W.Ts were. This was what her charms class had consisted of as well and hearing the bell ring, she stood up with Madeline and Aaron who in equal excitement made their way out of their class yawning.

Stretching, Madeline sighed and said. " Do you know what we have next? "

Taking out her timetable which was almost identical to Madeline's minus the extra advanced arithmancy, potions and lack of Herbology, she said.

" We have defense against the dark arts next "

" Oh yay with the noseless man "

Elbowing Aaron, Vesper shook her head. " That man has those scars because he was protecting us from death eaters, he's seen things I am sure, something which is useful in our class "

Aaron sighed and mumbled in agreement and they made their way to the classroom only to see the seats mostly filled. Unfortunately for Vesper, she had noticed the empty seat next to Lee too late who was sitting with the twins and she turned to Aaron about to ask him to sit with him so she could sit with Madeline only to see them both already seated. Madeline sporting the most innocent look she could whilst Aaron had the decency to look at least apologetic.

Cursing her best friend, she made her way to the back of the class and took the seat next to Lee and almost immediately Lee packed his things up and stood to swap seats with Fred so now she was sat next to Fred and George was next to Lee. She glared at Lee, but he only offered a wink at the light blonde girl.

"It's nice to have you next to me Lovegood "

" Shut up Weasley, pay attention to class "

" He hasn't even come yet "

" You should practise silence "

He was smirking at her and she turned to look up at him wanting to wipe it away somehow. She didn't know how though and in frustration went back to boring eyes into the back of Madeline's skull and the girl clearly noticed because she winked at her which further aggravated her.

" Lovegood "

She knew if she didn't answer he would bother her more so she sighed and said.

" Yes Weasley? "

" Is your cut okay? "

She was honestly surprised he still remembered about her minor cut from the quidditch World Cup after everything that happened in that period.

" Yeah, My dad healed me up quickly, I'm good as new, no scars "

"That's good, I wanted to ask you that on the train but somehow I ended up with a slammed compartment door to the face and the laughter of my best friend and brother behind me "

She rolled her eyes remembering exactly how he ended up in that situation. " Yes well, maybe you shouldn't be so obnoxious next time "

Before he could say anything else Moody entered the classroom and the classroom fell into silence as he wrote on the board PROFESSOR ALASTOR MOODY in big ugly chunky handwriting. How was it that everything about this man was not pleasing to look at down to even his handwriting?

" Call me Professor Moody, I will be your Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher this year as a favour to Dumbledore, any questions? "

There was only silence. With his terrifying face and wooden leg, he was a man who commanded respect and fear from just his aura.

" Today we will be learning about the unforgivable curses "

Vesper had a bad feeling and felt slightly queasy. " Who can tell me how many unforgivable curses there are "
