𝓜𝓪𝓿𝓮𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓮:
The human mind is truly the scariest thing of all. That I know first hand with all this shit he it throwing at me.
That is the first and only thing I think before a fist connects with my stomach. "Fucking bitch, you don't steal form me" he says as I grunt and jump back just in time to dodge the knee going up towards my face, I look up and see him. He looks angry, his face had a red bruise from when my fist connected with his face moments earlier.
He charges towards me and I duck under his arm, I kick him in the back of his knee and he falls to one knee. He turns in a wide arc and swings his leg underneath me as I go crashing to the ground. I roll way just in time as his foot connects with the ground where my head was laying just moments before.
I jump to my feet and reach for my knife in the holster at my thigh, I grab it just in time for the man to jump forward. I'm slicing his skin open, he grabbed his arm and grunts. He is in front of me before I know it, his fist connecting with my bottom lip. My head snaps back and I feel the throbbing in my lip. I can taste the blood polling in my mouth, I spit out the blood and grin.
I jab him in the face with my elbow. Before he even can move I'm on top of him, I'm punching his face and pushing him away from me. He stumbles backwards as his back hits the wall behind him, I'm walking towards him as I feel the air beside my head stir. I look just in time to see a throwing knife spear itself into the mans chest.
I look towards the place the throwing knife came from, I was covered enough in darkness that the person couldn't see me. Or at least not what I looked like. Luckily I had my hair braided and it was all tucked under my hood.
"Surender yourself to the Guard" a deep voice said, a voice I recognized. My breath caught.
Asher Torres.
The commander of the Guard, the people who takes mundanes and kills them. He does not feel for any of them, he does not treat them like humans.
Sadly, just like the rest of the world.
He is only twenty years old, but is still one of the most fearful solders out there. He is even on top of his group, any group for that matter. He is the commander.
He had matted brown hair, with deep green eyes, he was tall and muscular, and he always had this teasing look about him. And his power was awfully terrifying.
I turned and ran, I could hear Asher shouting orders as I heard pounding footsteps behind me. I jumped into an alley and ran to the nearest window to use that to help me climb the wall. I grabbed the edge of the roof and pulled myself up, I got to my feet and ran on top of the roof before jumping to the nearest one.
I was out of breath when I was sure I had lost them all. I got down from a roof and walked the streets until I found my usual spot. Then I walked into the ally just beside it before I crawled through a broken window at the level with the ground.
I could feel my lip stinging a little as I got up and dusted myself off.
I was in a basement and I worked my way over to the staircase at the far end of the room. I walked slowly up the stairs and came up in a living room.
Her back was to me, her Brown curly hair in a loose bun atop her head. I walked over to her and gave her a hug from behind, "hi, Iza" I sighed. she hugged me back.
"Hey, everything okay?" she asked and I nodded my head before pulling out the 12 silver coins I stolen from the man Asher had killed. Izadorra's eyes widened then she looked at me before she gasped. she took my face gently in her hands as I felt it tingle a little. Izadorra was a healer, and she worked her magic on me fast. She had done it for a couple of years now, ever since I was 15 years old and I met her.
She was like my sister, she was always there for me and I knew I could trust her. I had told her everything, well everything except one.
I had told her I was a mundane, and that I had abnormal powers. She knew and would do anything to protect me.
She let go of my face and I backed away slightly from her, "how the hell did you get this many silvers?" she asked.
"The same way my face got all fucked up" I grinned and she sighed. She gave me that look where I had to tell her what happened. So I explained how I robbed a solider her eyes widened at that, and that he caught me.
I also said how the commander of the guard was there and killed one of his own, that I had no idea why he did.
I continued to talk with Izadorra long after I was done telling her what had happened. It started to get dark outside and I sat bye to her before leaving the same way I came in.
Not long after, I was walking on the sidewalk on my way home, I looked around seeing people huddled in small crowds almost at every street corner. Trying to get warm and survive, I felt a twinge of guilt at my lack of help.
They would have had a much, if not a little better life if I would help them too. Not just Iza.
