After a long and mostly pointless chase, I finally caught the female Titan and immediately started finishing her body—starting with the head.
Her head was a smaller version of Titan TV Man’s, even featuring two hidden lasers on top. That made me decide to give her the ability to use the orange screen—which had been her only functional screen before. Except now, it didn't look like it had been slapped together by a clueless, blind mechanic, meaning the energy cost wouldn’t be ridiculously high.
Once her head was complete, I moved on to the arms.
Remember all that missing metal? Turns out my nanomachines had eaten it—including the magical disappearing Astro jackasses.
Wow.
Her arms ended up as a reinforced exoskeleton made from the bones of the Astros. But as I assembled them, I noticed speakers had integrated themselves into her design. Confused, I looked into her mind—because, well, I was literally building her body using my nanomachines.
Contrary to what I expected, she wasn’t created by the TV race. Turns out she was part of the Speaker race and was subconsciously adding the speakers herself.
Which raised another question—how was someone else controlling my nanomachines?
I chalked it up to a failsafe.
Probably in case I turned out to be an absolute bastard.
With her arms finished, I moved on to her core—surprisingly, the only part I wouldn’t have changed much. I just added a warp disk around it to ensure more power for her systems and abilities, along with boosting her speed.
Once her body was complete, I gave her a name—Astro Speaker Titan.
Titan TV Man hesitated at first, but after watching her levitate off the ground—no jetpack, no propulsion system—along with an accidental Astro warp right into me (which, by the way, hurt like a motherfucker and shattered my screen and my insides), he decided the name fit.
"Everyone through! Let's get out of here," Titan TV Man called, teleporting away along with the other alliance members.
I, on the other hand, just tracked my nanomachines, opened a door-shaped portal, grabbed A.S.T., and stepped through.
On the other side of the portal, chaos greeted me. Alliance members were running around, some even aiming their weapons at me. However, when they realized I was a Gear Head, most of them hesitated.
A long silence followed.
Slowly, people returned to whatever they had been doing—Titan TV Man included. (When the fuck did he get here? How was he so silent?)
"Uh," Astro Speaker Titan muttered, noticing my confusion. Using her Detainer arm, she grabbed me and dragged me toward a place stacked high with piles upon piles of scrap.
"This is where we’ll be staying. It’s one of the few places with enough space for the three of us," she said before disappearing behind one of the bigger scrap piles.
"Well, that was rude."
Still, I immediately released my nanobots to assimilate the valuable scrap around me. Most of the Gear Heads here were badly fixed—or straight-up missing limbs—and it was seriously setting me off the rails.
So, time to fix that.
