I woke up the next day feeling exhausted.
My arms were burning, giving me the impression that I was actually growing some thick branches. Maybe the tree trunk thing wasn't exaggerated after yesterday's events.

I was just glad that I had gotten through the whole course uninjured.

That way I had been able to pick up Lilac's body when she dropped only about half way through. Karma.

She had been the second person to do the parkour after me, showing everyone what not to do.
Afterwards the healers had told us that both her legs and feet were broken and her skull fractured. At least that had explained why I had had to carry her the whole way.

Nevertheless, she was fine now, so I could joke about her all I wanted.

Thanks to her, we had been able to escape the rest of the training. Instead I had been forced to listen to her loud groans while her bones were being rearranged.
I looked at the raw nail prints on my palms from holding her hand, remembering her screams. She was lucky that she was a vampire or else she would still be rolling around in a wheelchair.

I was curious how she was doing and if the other's got through the course unharmed but I didn't have the time to change into my other clothes and search for them. Besides, I would most probably only get lost again so I gave up on that thought.

There was another matter that was bugging my mind. While I was getting ready to meet exactly the person that was causing all the latest uproar in my mind I was already imagining how our conversation would go.

I had endured the training although he had clearly set me up for failure. I had done everything he wanted and I hoped that this was enough to prove to him that I was determined.

When I arrived though, my excitement was squashed quickly.
I entered the room in anticipation despite having walked up 15 floors with my soar body.
The fact that my knock had been left unanswered had been the first sign that something was wrong but I had missed it.
Nevertheless I opened the door, hoping that he was inside and my hopes actually became true for once.

He was sitting at his desk, reading through papers in complete concentration. He didn't even look up when I entered but I was sure that my arrival hadn't been missed.
I stood in the doorframe for a second, contemplating if I wanted to say something but I didn't want to distract him from his papers that were probably more important than anything I had ever read in my life.

So instead I quietly went over to the closet to retrieve the cleaning supplies.

While cleaning I got the awkward feeling that I was being ignored. I didn't know how to handle the situation besides speeding up with cleaning and stealing a glance once in a while.
But every time I looked towards him he was still facing the same papers, gripping onto the sheets with a tight grip.

By now, I had kind of gotten the feeling that he was angry at something but I didn't know if it were the papers or me.
So I just kept on cleaning quietly, not wanting to cause more annoyance to him.
