|Niccolo|

It had been an hour since I texted her.

Was she okay?

Or did she hate me.

But something told me that I should call her.

Maybe.

I dialed her number.

My heart raced.

"Hello?" A muffled voice said.

She sounded like she had been crying.

A lot.

"I called to ask if you were okay- I had texted you.."

"What text?" She asks, clearly exasperated.

"Where are you right now?" I ask.

"Rome General"...

"Why?"

"Marco's dead". She says, her voice falling apart.

"Stay there, I'm coming".

And I hung up.

Marco was dead.

What?

Did I hear her right?

Marco's gone..

I ran out of my room.

"Niccolo where are you going?"

"Serena". I say, scrambling to find my keys.

'What happened?"

"Marco's dead".

Camilla chuckles.

"That's what she told me and she's at the hospital and she's sobbing and I need to be there". I rambles, finding my keys.

Her face drops.

"I need to see her too".

"Get your shoes on and let's go". I order.

She put on sandals and we sped through the streets.

"Marco's dead?" Camilla questions, her face full of emotion.

"Y-yeah".

"How?"

"I don't know".

"She must be hysterical". Camilla says, her hands shaking.

"I've never heard her like that- ever". I admit, speeding through a stop sign.

"Marco was her everything, Nicco." Camilla says, her eyes red.

"I know." I say, my voice cracked.

He kept her going.

When I hurt her.

He helped her that night.

My heart hurt knowing she was hurting.

And it hurt a lot.
