It was my turn now. For the most part of course we would have many of the same or similar memories but these are our own individual memories. Like when Mary was born or the bet we made. And the time we tried to do our chores together. We only made that mistake once.

See one of my chores was to take the clothes down to the river made my own soap and everything. Picked a little spot of the water to clean them in. Bucket and soap and that wooden thing you like I think dry them on or put through the ringer but also can make music out of.

Some scrub brushes you know the whole lot. Though I found it easier to clean them by getting in the water with them and it was shallow enough to stand in so we didn't need to worry about if we would drown and it was warm so we knew we wouldn't catch a cold.

But deep enough we could cough up water and if we got knocked down we struggled from the little river currents. Splashing to get back up. And little fish that kissed away the dead skin and often left you laughing. They were very tickly when they were around and if you were in the water with them.

Though only enough to make you giggly. Well I was waiting for Jack to come join me had everything set up went to go sit in the water. I got everything set up that I was supposed to. I decided to sit on the river bank and poured some of the soap in. Laid a couple items onto the water.

The current was enough to knock us over if we weren't careful but not enough to drift our clothes down the river. But the bubbles got too big and I couldn't see where the fish were and I had my feet already in the water. Bad judgment on my part. That I was surprised and let out a little giggly yelp.

My sound alerted 4 people. It was then Jack remembered he was supposed to be helping me. And my friends I had made came running. They all thought I screamed because I scared or hurt. Though less concerned when they heard giggling. I saw 3 shadows in the distance.

But they were out of sight when I heard Jack come and ask if I was ok. I turned back to look at him. And when I turned away to look across the stream they were gone. You ok? He asked me. Yeah the fish just feel funny and I can't see them cause of the soap. Where have you been?

Where do you think where do most 8 year old boys like to play after it's been raining? He asked me. Well that would explain why you're leaving a trail of mud. Mom's gonna kill you if you track that into the house again. And thankfully the water is warm today.

I pulled my hair back. That's another one of my jobs so thanks for that I roll my eyes back at him. You worry too much. He teases. I worry the right amount you never are afraid or worried. You always wanna have fun. And you're way too uptight you're a kid have some fun.

Well I'm gonna be having all kinds of fun giggling at your expense when mom has to scrub your feet again if you track that into the house. I sneered. I'm too old for that and that only happens once and not a mistake I make more than once you're right so mom won't but dad will.

Or you can scrub up now in the river get yourself and your clothes clean while they're still on you its not swim season we don't have our swimsuits out. (As if they were invented by then) but also I know you couldn't had meant what you said. Oh I mean it he sneers back.

You know why? I teased as my nose scrunched. Why? I gave him a little shove as he went off balance flailing as I grinned and giggled until he grabbed my arm and pulled me down with him. We were soaked as I splashed at him and spit water at him. Thankfully it's still shallow right now.

Got you to have fun though. He splashed back. Oh you wanna see me have fun do you? How do you think I clean these clothes? I laughed when his face went ghost pale. You better not he splashed me his teasing grin back. See the mud's gone anyways I'm all wet.
