Rajshree was watching TV, her eyes glued to the screen where her two jigar ke tukde were getting engaged.
Yes, it was a wedding album-slash-movie she was watching on loop. Emotional much? Very.
Heer was just about to enter the hall, but the moment she noticed Dadi watching her engagement video, her mood turned sour. Without another glance, she immediately changed direction and marched toward the dining room.
Just then—
"Arey Heeri, aa ja puttar! Idhar baith."
"Oh Heeri, come child! Come sit here."
"Haan meri zindagi mein kuch sahi ho kaise sakta hai, Waheguru ji! Samasya ki hai tuhanu mujhse... Jadon main tuhanu dekhia, tusi mere naal ek nava'n siapa banaunde ho. Mujhe nahi khelna ab!"
"Yes, how can anything go right in my life, Waheguru ji? What grudge do you have against me... Every time I look at You for help, You throw a new problem at me. I don't want to play anymore!"
Heer cried internally but put on a wide, fake smile and turned to Dadi.
"Dadiii!"
She said with exaggerated happiness, hugging her.
"Dadi, maine na abhi college jana hai. Vo kya hai na, aaj mera exam hai. Toh... jaaun?"
"Dadi, actually I have to go to college. I have an exam today... so can I leave?"
She tried to act innocent.
Keyword: TRIED.
"Haan beta, jao! Aur suno, Anhad tumhe drop karega college tak."
"Yes dear, go! And listen, Anhad will drop you to college."
Heer's inner soul screamed, but she kept a tight-lipped smile.
"Ji, Dadi."
"Okay, Dadi."
She moved toward the dining table.
"Heeri, vo Anhad bhaiya bol rahe the, parathe bana do unke liye."
"Heeri, Anhad bhaiya is asking you to make parathas for him."
Kiaan said while sitting casually at the table.
"Kyu? Uske baap ki naukar lagti hoon main?"
"Why? Am I his father's servant?"
Heer snapped, visibly irritated.
Kiaan stood up, pointed a finger at her, and stared. She shrunk a bit.
"Uski mangetar."
"His fiancée."
He smirked and burst out laughing.
"Bhaiiiiiii!"
He shouted joyfully, laughing harder.
Heer clenched her fists.
"Heeri, jaa ke upar se Anhad ke kapde le aa. Main is munde ton pareshaan haan... Kaam layi sab kuch bhul jaanda hai."
"Heeri, please go to the terrace and bring Anhad's clothes. I'm so worried about this boy—he forgets everything when it comes to work."
Maithili sighed while Kiaan kept laughing. Aaransh, who had just come downstairs, shared a knowing laugh with him.
These two were inseparable best buddies. Shrishti and Krisha were close friends too.
Anhad's equation with Kiaan and Krisha was top-tier. Heer's bond with Aaransh and Shrishti was also solid.
But the only chaotic duo in the house?
ANHAD & HEER.
aka
Anny Penny Chuha & Peri Peri Heeri.
Yes. They named each other that.
Crazy? Completely.
