"Familiarise yourself with the enviroment"

Her whole body ached. She rubbed her eyes. She was laying on the hard ground, compact dirt, it seemd. She didn't know where she was, nor who she was. She sat up and slowly oppened her eyes. The world around her was...odd. There was a skinny creature with six small wings and comically small limbs flying over her. It had a red and brown coloration, beady eyes that rested atop axolotl like gills, a nose that was similar to that of a snake and long tail that made up most of it's body.

She stared at it in disbelief. That thing surely didn't exist, she didn't remember that thing existing. But she didn't remember anything, so why should she trust her own memories, if they didn't even exist? She stood up and scanned the landscape. Something caught her eye. A small book. It was relatively close to her, so she didn't need to go too far from her "spawn point". She giggled at her stupid joke.  She picked up the book and realised that it had a pencil attached to it. The title was "Guide to survive pocket dimensions". She stared at it in confusion. Out of curiosity, she oppened it in the first chapter. Next to it, there was the end on an index, which had different sections. The first page read as it follows:

"Rule #1                                                                                                                                                Familiarise yourself with the enviroment. Pocket dimensions are wildly different and have a very wide variety, which may help or worsen your posibility of getting out. The main things you have to look for are: 1. A food source 2. A safe water source 3. A shelter 4.Material resources. If the dimension checks all the boxes, Congratulations! You can safely get out of that dimension, or, at least, much easier. If it doesn't, you can go to page 21, the start of chapter 2 to get more tips about surviving that space, and it is recommended to try to leve as fast as possible. Wheather you get a better or a worse dimension, a great idea is to write down how the landscape looks. Luckily, at the end of the book, there is a small notebook to write down anything you need and draw all graphics you like. Don't worry the pages are infinite."

-What is this?- she thought outloud. There was no such thing as an infinite notebook. But, again, she was in a pocket dimension, reading a book on how to survive there, and she had just appeared there with no memories, so that might be the most normal thing that happened to her today. She sat on the ground, opening the book by the end and grabing the notebook at the end, stored in a little flap. She grabbed it and took the pencil out of it's holder. She started describing the land she was looking at. The ground was red, probably because of clay, and there were many small mesetas in the distance. She could see that there where small reptile looking creatures scurring around the floor and birds with long floppy ears and fluffy round tails. There were small plants that looked like tubers and semi dried trees.  The sky was grey, filled with what could be called clouds.  It was a bit cold even with her coat, which was a bit weird, since the landscape looked 'hot'. She suddenly rememberd. Her coat! It might contain something useful! She took it off and started looking for pockets. There were four in total, two inside of her jacket and another two outside. She found a small roll of string, an eraser, a small chocolate bar, a cherry flavoured soft candy and mint flavoured bubblegum. Her jacket was black, with two flaps of (also black) whool and a flannel inside. In one of the sleeves, there was a patch that had the number 23 in it. '23' she thought. 'I guess I have to start using that as a name.' With that, she started looking for a shelter for the night. Luckily, she found a small 'cave' created by small trees and shrubs covering a depression in the ground, creating a kind of a dome. The space was barely tall enought to sit in and wide enough to lay down and leave her stuff on the floor. 23 made an improvissed entrance by covering it with even more leaves and sticks, and, finally, after about 12 hours of walking to find this shelter and two more to finish her entries of the notebook, she could finally lay down, using her coat as a blanket, and fall asleep.
