Everything was going terribly wrong. The moment the dean had asked me to enter the dungeon with my group I should've protested more. They weren't ready yet after only a week of training.
Someone had triggered the destruction of the dungeon and now everyone was running around, trying to find the entrance.
I brought my group out of the dungeon and turned around despite the debris that fell onto me.I could hear more screams from within the dungeon that belonged to groups that hadn't left yet.
Blindly I entered one of the passages, not knowing what to expect.
I followed the yells until I saw a small gathering of people. Only two of them were standing while three were carried.
I quickly got to action, taking two of the unconscious forms and lifting them with the other student.Together we reached the entrance where I not so carefully dropped the bodies onto the ground.
Behind us I saw more people leaving the dungeon.
The moment I looked into Blayze' blood smeared face I knew that something was awfully wrong.
Instantly one face came to my mind.Without wasting a thought I ran back inside right in the moment when more students were getting out. I tried to evade them until I heard a loud hiss and saw a small body lying on the ground.
Emotions filled me. Relief but also anger.
I became furious at the student who had just collided with Rora. Her body limply laid against the wall, looking more dead than alive. The only thing that reassured me was the small hiss I had heard of her. During the last weeks I had quickly realized that her voice was engrained into my mind. Whenever she was around I heard her immediately, I even took notice of the sound of her steps before entering.
"Fuck" I cursed.
Her whole body was covered in blood steaming from scratches on her face and tears in her uniform.
Carefully I picked her up underneath her arms. Her body felt tiny and weak into my arms. There was no resistance when I heaved her up, her small head just rolled over my arm.I tried to keep her even but her body shook with each step I ran outside.
Desperately I ran towards the entrance while large stones were dropping around us.I tried shielding her body with mine so she wouldn't be injured even more but wasn't sure if my efforts were futile.
Still, I couldn't give up now. Finally we reached the entrance and I ran outside.
In an instant there was a loud crash.
I looked behind us.
The ceiling had collapsed. Anyone who had been left behind was dead.I tried to calm myself down because there was nothing I could do now but I instead felt insanely helpless.
I walked towards the lawn and laid the small body down.
Carefully I placed her head onto the grass. Her body was covered in glass shards and stones that had cutten minor injuries into her skin.
What worried me though was the dressing around her chest.
It was soaked in blood and another liquid that smelled awful.
