Chapter 8: Making Plans

Back at Taylor's apartment, Travis and Taylor sat on the couch, the weight of their conversation still hanging in the air. But despite the uncertainty of their future, they found comfort in each other's presence.

"So, what do we do now?" Travis asked, breaking the silence.

Taylor sighed, leaning her head against his shoulder. "I wish I had all the answers, Travis. But I think we need to take this one step at a time."

Travis nodded, his mind racing with possibilities. "Do you think we could make a long-distance relationship work?"

Taylor hesitated for a moment before nodding. "I think we could try. It won't be easy, but if we're both committed, I believe we can make it work."

Travis felt a surge of relief at her words. "I'm committed, Taylor. I want to make this work, no matter what."

"Me too," Taylor said, squeezing his hand. "We just have to figure out how."

They spent the next hour brainstorming ideas, discussing everything from scheduling regular visits to finding ways to stay connected when they were apart. Travis was impressed by Taylor's optimism and resourcefulness, and together, they came up with a plan that felt manageable.

As they talked, Travis felt a sense of excitement building within him. Despite the challenges ahead, he knew that he was in this with Taylor, and that gave him hope for the future.

"Okay," Taylor said, finally sitting back and stretching. "I think we have a plan."

Travis smiled, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. "I think so too. Thank you, Taylor. I don't know what I'd do without you."

"You don't have to figure it out alone, Travis," Taylor said softly, reaching out to touch his cheek. "We're in this together."

Travis leaned into her touch, feeling a warmth spread through him. "Together," he repeated, savoring the word.

With their plan in place, Travis and Taylor spent the rest of the day enjoying each other's company, savoring the moments they had together. They watched movies, cooked dinner together, and talked late into the night, their bond growing stronger with each passing moment.

As they drifted off to sleep, wrapped in each other's arms, Travis felt a sense of peace settle over him. He knew that the road ahead would be challenging, but with Taylor by his side, he felt confident that they could overcome anything.

The next morning, Travis woke up with a renewed sense of purpose. He knew that he had to return to Kansas City soon, but he also knew that he would be coming back to Nashville as soon as he could. With Taylor in his life, he felt ready to face whatever challenges came their way.

"Good morning," Taylor said with a smile as she woke up beside him. "Ready to take on the day?"

"Absolutely," Travis replied, grinning. "With you by my side, I can handle anything."

And as they began their day together, Travis knew that no matter what the future held, as long as they were together, they could face it with strength and courage.
